Dinsun Review
Path to Nowhere is surprisingly competent for a mobile RPG. The 'tower defense' label is a bit reductive; the ability to move your Sinners around the board during combat adds a layer of micro-management that I actually appreciate. It's more engaging than the usual 'set it and forget it' titles. The art style is striking—moody, mature, and far less 'bubbly' than the industry standard. It’s refreshing to see a game that doesn't feel like it was made for toddlers.
However, it's still a gacha game at heart. No matter how good the writing is—and it is quite decent for the genre—you eventually hit the wall where progress is dictated by your stamina bar or the luck of your pulls. The monetization is present, and while not the most offensive I've seen, it's enough to keep it from being a classic. If you enjoy a bleak atmosphere and tactical gameplay, this is better than most, but don't expect it to change your mind about the mobile business model.
