92/100

As a long-time fan of the Total War franchise, seeing the Alexander expansion reach mobile with such polish is a treat. This isn't just a 'lite' version of the PC classic; it's the full-scale conquest of the known world, optimized for touch. Playing as Alexander the Great, you're tasked with the monumental feat of toppling the Persian Empire, and the game manages to capture that sense of historical urgency perfectly.

The real-time tactical battles are where the game truly shines. Managing the Macedonian Phalanx while orchestrating flanking maneuvers with the Companion Cavalry feels incredibly responsive on iPad. The strategic layer—managing your empire's economy and internal stability—provides a necessary depth that keeps you engaged between the epic clashes. It’s a masterclass in how to port a complex grand strategy game to a mobile platform without losing its soul.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. Finally, a game for grown-ups. Rome: Total War was a landmark on PC, and this mobile port of the Alexander expansion is nothing short of miraculous. It doesn't hold your hand; it’s brutally difficult, just as history should be. Managing the phalanx on a touchscreen takes some getting used to, but once you master the controls, it’s the most rewarding strategy experience you can have on a phone. No microtransactions, no energy timers—just pure, unadulterated conquest. This is what mobile gaming should be.
