82/100

Radiant is a neon-soaked love letter to Space Invaders and Galaga, but with a modern upgrade system. The retro aesthetic is spot-on, featuring vibrant colors and a charmingly sarcastic storyline. It captures that 'one more go' feeling perfectly.

What sets it apart from simple clones is the weapon variety and the boss fights. You can customize your ship with various lasers, missiles, and shields, which adds a layer of strategy to the arcade action. It’s lighthearted, fast-paced, and looks fantastic on a mobile screen. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it polishes the classic shoot-'em-up formula to a mirror finish.

Dinsun Review

Radiant knows exactly what it is: a love letter to the arcade cabinets of my youth. It’s got the big pixels, the bright colors, and the simple 'move and shoot' mechanics. I appreciate the attempt at a story, even if the humor is a bit hit-or-miss. The upgrade system is the real hook here, giving you a reason to keep playing beyond just seeing your score go up.

However, it’s a very safe game. It doesn't take any risks. The levels start to feel very similar after the first hour, and the boss fights are more about bullet sponging than actual strategy. It’s a well-made tribute, but it lacks the 'soul' of the games it’s imitating. If you want a quick hit of nostalgia, Radiant is fine, but it won't replace the classics in your heart or on your device for long. It's too derivative to be essential.
