A big THANK YOU to everyone who’s played Real Chess 3D!
Finally! A chess game with a BUY option, ads are such a nuisance. This is a great looking board, large size for easy viewing and maneuvering, fully rotating cam so that you never have a problem grabbing the piece you wish to move, and the best part of all is the beautiful music which promotes concentration and compliments this polished app, making it even more special and unique. The AI is as fair as any other I have tried, perfectly good, sharing the same issue as they all seem to have about games ending too soon in draws... maybe it’s a limitation of the AI tech... anyway, it means I just have to get better! I tried about 20 before I settled in this as the best, thank for making such a great app :)) PS - for people reading concerned about the King’s movement as mentioned in the first review, there is no problem! The AI restricts the move if the King would be endanger again by another piece by making that move. In RL chess, it is also against the rules to move the King into a bad position. You may be able to physically move the King the direction you wish but if you’re moving him from check back into check, you have more practice to do! Also, there is (now) an option to turn off that feature [SHOW LEGAL MOVES] if you wish to play without the AI training. It’s helpful to learn and to prevent premature forfeit of the game, and easy to turn off if you wish be reckless at daring, depending on one’s confidence level.
This is an awesome chess game and does a great job simulating an actual chess match in 3D. It allows you to rotate your view in all directions and has lots of options for customizing the board and pieces as well as the gameplay. There is even a calming soundtrack that you can turn on, if you want to feel more relaxed while you beat your competitor into submission (or get beaten as I often do). There are options to pass and play or you can play the computer. Some reviewers have said the ‘normal’ cpu setting is too difficult, however, I don’t find that to be true. I am an average player at best and I can usually beat the computer on normal, although it is challenging (which I think is kind of the point?). I blunder a lot, so I’m glad it has an undo button and I think of that as a kind of training wheel to help me learn the pitfalls of my mistakes. Also, you CAN play as white or black against the cpu, just tap the knight icon under your avatar when starting a new game to switch sides. I also found the training module to be helpful when trying to understand the special moves in the game such as castling, etc.. The ads in the free version are minimal, but I would recommend getting the paid version if you play a lot and want to support the game. Well deserving of 5 stars.
This game is so amazing, it helps you with actual chess with the board game. It tells you if you move that piece it will put your king in danger or check. I was searching for a chess game for hours to help me with the actual board game but then I found this. This is the best chess game I’ve played. It’s also very addictive and helpful to me. I would like to show this game to my friends because some of them play chess and might need a bit of help. You can play with an npc or you can play with a friend or family member. I find this game very helpful. I thank the makers of this game of making these wonderful games for people to play, and there’s actually not so many ads so I find this game perfect for me. I would want more people to enjoy and like this game as much as I do. It’s very addictive and I’ve played on it for hours. I recommend this game for everyone to enjoy 😊. Oh, and thank you again for making this wonderful game! 🥳🥳🥳👍👍👍😁😁😁😄😄😄😄😄😄😁😁😁
I like this app a lot because I like playing over the board and having the pieces in 3D helps me see tactical patterns and positional motifs much better. There is also an option to make it 2D too for anyone who wants to play in 2D. The computer goes up in levels pretty well. As a competitive chess player, the Normal is what I would expect normal person just starting to understand the fun of the game to be, and the Medium is what I was a few months ago. I haven’t tried the Hard yet, so maybe I will update this review in the future. The aesthetics of this game’s UIUX is so sleek. I want to give their creative team a big commendation. Why do I take away a star? Because the one thing this app doesn’t have is the ability to record the moves of the game. I’m not asking for a computer review of all best moves, I just want a record in PGN or algebraic notation replay of what was played. That would make this the perfect chess app. There are other apps for lessons, so I like that this app is catering to people who want to play a nice game with either a cpu or human. Just please add the ability to look at the moves once the game finishes and I will recommend this app to every chess player.
This is the best Chess games out there in the App Store. You feel like you are playing in a 3D virtual world against either the CPU or other players. What’s great about it are the levels of play plus the extra component for lessons and learning chess. The only glitch is when castling, this must be fixed, when you choose black and are castling it says Castling by Will not my name. Please fix. Also it would be great if while playing the game either against the CPU or someone else , there should be automated assistant to give hints or suggestions on better moves. The music is peaceful and soothing. Now recently I have issues with ads, some do not clear taking the enjoyment out of the game. Dear Support, and Developer Sailendu Behera, I am writing to you regarding your fantastic Real 3D Chess Game. I am a devoted Chess player and play it constantly on my IPhone 10x MAX and IPhone 12. Your game is very peaceful and soothing with your music. Here’s my concern: I have noticed too many Ads that pop up blocking my start of the game taking away my enjoyment, why is this happening. Also a Japanese game in Japanese letters only popped up. There was no way to exit out of the game and get out of it. I had to restart my iPhone. Both phones are running on IOS 15.2. Please look into this matter. These ads are annoying and are taking the fun out of the game which is educational and soothing and enjoyable. Please.
Brilliantly written application, and is probably a model for ‘thinking machine’ theory. If I had any issue, it’s the magnitude of the difference in difficulty between easy and normal mode. In easy mode, the CPU only thinks of the next move and will never hesitate to take a piece, even if it is ultimately sacrificing a queen to take a pawn. In normal mode it thinks mathematically about every move, and the difference between normal and every level after that is how far in advance it ‘does the math’. In easy mode you can win in a few seconds. In normal mode that can take an hour or two as it suddenly get smart. What this means is this app can challenge virtually anyone with any skill level. As a programmer, I would absolutely love to get a glimpse of the programming of this app as it is the perfect app; slick, intuitive, seemingly bug free, and never fails to challenge and entertain.
The Easy setting is too easy and normal setting is hard! I feel as if Magnus would be ripping his hair out playing this cpu. I’m terrified to go to medium or hard setting because I’m afraid my phone will come to life and kill everyone in my house as we all sleep. The creators are sick-sadistic, torturers who are plotting world domination one check at a time. I highly suggest against getting this game if you are a beginner unless you plan to play chess for a week, then swearing off of it out of fear of getting a stress induced ulcer. This game keeps me up at night, not because I’m playing it, but again because I’m terrified of it. There is absolutely no excuse as to why this computer generated A.I. Is so smart. The creators should repurpose the app to solving world hunger and we’ll all be fed within a week. Do better Eivaa games. No wait, do the exact opposite, do worse. Please, we are all begging you.
While a visually pleasing game, the app settings could be expanded to include having a choice to play black, fine tuning the “easy, medium, hard” settings for an opponent, offering hints and multiple undo would be nice too. Basically, if this app merged with Chess Pro, it would be pretty sweet! I am a complete beginner trying various apps in order to learn the game, and so far the ‘less pretty’ apps seem to offer more…. Why is that? Update: I’ve learned via another reviewer’s comments that black may be selected by clicking the knight next to the player’s name. As a new player I, and I’m sure others, would appreciate more instruction when first starting this app. I’ve got questions about the Elo ratings for the game levels: Easy, Normal, Medium, Hard…. I don’t have a clue… but hey, there’s music.. and one can rotate the board all around to get different views of the game! The power users out there will be happy to know there are a few slots where various games can be played/saved. It isn’t clear to me what level player the developers are catering to, but they missed the mark when it comes to UI, forcing users to click around in several areas to set things up, and it would be so much nicer if all settings were on ONE PAGE! I find the app a bit fiddly for this reason, but more experienced players may be okay with the way set up is done.
I have tried several online Chess apps, and I really like this the best. The one time purchase of $3.99 is very reasonable with no ads. I do not consider myself to be an expert chess player, but I beat the AI player about 95% of the time. Sometimes it seems like it’s almost letting me win and teaching me at the same time. I have played about 90 games and it has made me a much better chess player. I really love this game. It reminds me a little bit when I play with my grandson’s chess. I let them win and help them learn. I’m a little afraid to go to the next level for fear that I might lose all the time but I will get the courage someday. This is for sure one of the best chess apps I have ever played and it really is great if you want to get better at chess, this is the one I would choose.
Everything about this game is terrific... except the issue that easy and normal have a huge gap. Easy is as advertised; fun but the computer is easily beaten. Normal, however, is actually difficult. Have done equal/better on medium setting, which should be harder than normal (according to the scroll bar). Normal CPU is playing almost mathematically perfect, which is not “normal” if you are playing average friends where you sin some/ose some. It is good training perhaps, but not being able to go backwards several moves does not allow you to learn about how the computer set you up. The AI is good; it is interesting to watch the CPU player set up moves and traps. Every time I think the computer made a mistake in normal mode... I find out very quickly it did not and I did! Please make normal a little more even and make medium the current normal. Everything else about this game (look, feel, controls) is super.
