Real Pool 3D
Sat Oct 05 2019 Qtip4The avitars block the corners of the table on certain shots and the computer does’nt use enough English in proper situations to give me a better challenge, otherwise,it’s the best pool game online ever although we will be paying to play this game should apple choose you to add to there game bundle library in the near future through subscription just like iTunes and appleTV... also please add the game of straight pool and the ability for game sound effects of the volume to not crash when I listen to my iTunes. I like the illusion of a jukebox as if I’m in a bar, not being relegated to department store or waiting room music your game provides...also add applause response effects after certain great shots and lastly, give us players maybe three or four options of table surface color...THANKS!!
Some great bits and not so great
Sun Feb 10 2019 Warren K.I downloaded this app because I was looking to get my hands on some more pool but it is hard to access a physical pool table. It is great for just playing around, but not necessarily ideal but getting better at pool. I was a little disappointed that was no online mode to play against actual players. The CPU mode isn’t realistic at all because the computer can easily do any shots it wants and then purposely miss before it makes too many in a row. On the ‘easy’ CPU mode it will almost always make two shots in a row and then purposely miss the third one. A real player would more often make easy shots but less often make hard ones. The CPU makes easy shots and hard shots alike until it decides to give up. The way I prefer to play the game is in the offline 2-player mode where I will play against myself from both sides. That is where I have improved at the game the most.
Some positives about the game include the fact that there are plenty of modes to choose from, including 8-ball, 9-ball, snooker, time trial, practice, and many others. There are many ways to play the game, even if by yourself. The art style is also very good and the atmosphere of the game has a very relaxing and friendly vibe, which is exactly what you want for this type of game. Despite it’s flaws, the game can be a fun way to improve at pool as ling as you are challenging yourself. Overall it is easily worth the $2 charge to go ad-free.
Great app!
Fri Nov 02 2018 thomassellingThis is a simple yet dynamic app with plenty to offer the billiards fan and pro! The CPU is a wizard to watch, and gives you a real challenge! It’s not always all that smart, so it’s a bit lacking. Whenever it gets an impossible shot, and occasionally even a not so difficult shot, it can be surprisingly inept and clumsy, which is not realistic or consistent. Still, most of the time I’m shaking in my spurs to sink every ball I get and keep my streak running to the end or else the game is easily handed over. I should also say that this critique is based on playing exclusively on “Hard,” the highest difficulty level. Otherwise, there are several fun games to play within the app to keep things interesting, rules are thorough and insightful, and the look, feel, action and options within the app are all very satisfactory. Actually I have just one other Main critique and that’s that the perspective camera view in gameplay can be unwieldy and not easily adjusted once you’ve moved it too much. Not sure what to do about this, but I mostly use a top-down view to play.
Really Good Game(s)
Wed Mar 25 2020 The Real/Original NukiMoI enjoy playing this Game the best. Not slammed w/ads or wanting $$. Nice enjoyable variation of Pool & Snooker.<-My Fav! Only glitches are when playing the CPU, I tend to win the break like 99% of the time. Also, it doesn’t always move the aim when I tap the ball I want to hit. Then gee, I actually have to move the aim all by myself!😅The only thing I’s change or add would be my Avatar Options, Customized Pool Cues & maybe offer different Rooms/Lighting & maybe Table styles. Still, FIVE STARS As Is!!
(Side Note: I Noticed extremely a few Hateful, Racist Reviews based on Developers Names & assumed ethnicity & religion! It’s despicable, deplorable & abhorrent behavior! There’s no need for it!! The person(s) acting as such should be removed from whatever platform allows them access to playing & reviewing Any apps!)
Overall, an excellent app!
Mon Nov 02 2020 アラスカの人 外人I checked out a number of other pool game apps and this seemed like the best by far. I enjoy the multiple different variations of pool and billiards and just tried the recently added snooker, which I found to be a good addition.
I really like the graphics and gameplay. The response and physics behind it are good. I feel the application of english to the ball is realistic, although there are times where I felt the force of the hit and the english applied would not be possible in real play.
I don’t generally use the top view, as I like to have a vantage that is familiar to me from real pool play. I think that when a higher perspective is being viewed, the front edge of the table could be brought closer to the players position. It seems like half the screen is wasted and you don’t get a full view of the table. I would also like to be able to change the orientation to take advantage of the full length of the tablet when viewing from the end of the table. It would be nice to be able to choose your view rather than be locked into one orientation.
The ball placement is a little too fast and makes me dizzy, but overall a really good game!
Let the new player win
Tue Feb 07 2023 jaseinatlYou don’t start out your game on easy and have the computer run the table every time. Obviously that isn’t fun watching the computer play itself. Where’s your common sense? Not only that but the 3d is wonky and laborious. If you zoom in too far you miss half the shots. It could at least pull out after you shoot. Or maybe some buttons for default views. I spent most of my time zooming in and out before realizing I had to hit a strange green checkbox.
And can we talk about the ui?it’s terrible. The table and balls look nice but the avatars look like a 5th grader drew them. They’d be fine if this was 5th grade pool 3d or something boring 2d flat line art characters don’t work with this game. And go ahead and hire someone to fix you dimensionless controls. Seriously it looks like you spent all you graphics budget on the table and then used generic ui components for the rest. Could easily be so much better.
Good Game
Sat Nov 28 2020 CrywoodsThis is a good game with lots of variety. I like the options for pool queues, table designs and avatar selection. It’s nice to have choices. The controls are simple and easy to use. I do agree with some of the reviews that playing against the CPU isn’t very realistic. Not sure how that’s set up exactly, but just a suggestion, maybe use a probability calculation to determine the likelihood of the CPU actually succeeding in making the shot?
Two other suggestions that I think would make this game five stars: 1. Modify the pass and play option to allow your friends to be invited to a game. I use this option to play against myself more often than not rather than the CPU or handing a friend my phone so they can play their turn. Being able to invite someone to play without worrying about something happening to my phone would be nice.
2. Fixing practice mode for the different games so that the rules are still in place for the specific game type being practiced. Right now no matter what game is practiced you are able to just knock balls around randomly with no regard for the rules. I would like to be able to practice the actual game to learn the rules.
All in all this is a wonderful game though and I like it much better than other pool games I’ve played. Great job creators!
Something strange
Tue Mar 18 2025 jeralaphiI like the game and play it often. However, don’t trust the line to be honest as to where the ball will go. It is severely off. Change the camera angle to overhead view to get a “correct” view of where the ball is heading. Also, I’ve seen the CPU make a shot where the cue ball didn’t even come in contact with the target ball. The cue is a good foot behind the ball and it goes into the pocket. Cheater! It also loves to make a great shot into a scratch for no reason. You will scratch like crazy if you’re not careful. But overall, a good game to kill time. I played this game on an older iPad and had zero ads. Got a new iPad and suddenly have tons of ads. Also, if you don’t close out and go to the main menu when you’re done, it locks up and you have to restart your iPad to begin a fresh game. Just be aware of that when you stop playing.
Things have changed
Fri Feb 21 2020 vikbroThe settings of easy or hard have changed. I’ve noticed that even on the easy setting, if you’re playing 8-ball, if you miss a shot - the cpu will clear the table taking slop and rediculous shots. The cpu has always taken slop, but the defensive play is expert... always leaving you no shot... bummer! You expect that on the more difficult settings. Sometimes you just want a simple game without playing a computer that if it is allowed to simply not miss. Even on the easy setting... when I used to play “in the real world”, if you sank the 8 ball on the break - you won. Maybe that’s not in the “by the book” rules, but that’s been my experience...
Same Thing
Thu Aug 24 2017 MuffeyzgirlI thought I had finally found a good pool game. Playing another for years was making my blood boil--cheating from scratches to computer playing the speed, I gave up. This started out by giving me the option if playing easy to being challenged to a game that was supposed to be a little harder. It lures you in to make havoc by "placing" opponent in seriously hard situations. I would enjoy having a simple game of pool that delivers a risk to the computer as well as me. Plain and simple expectations are not discouragement--they encourage you to play the game to enjoy and get better. When an opponents ball screams to the pocket and stops as if there's a wall, just to block the pocket, the game of pool becomes a defeatist instead of enjoyment. I should have known--anything free is not enjoyable for very long. Making the computer miss long shots would make it much better and realistic.
