Sengoku 3 is arguably the peak of the Sengoku trilogy and one of the finest beat-'em-ups on the Neo Geo. This ACA NEOGEO mobile port brings that arcade perfection to your pocket with surprising grace. The combat is incredibly fluid, moving away from the transformation mechanics of previous entries to a much tighter, combo-focused ninja combat system.

The sprite work is gorgeous, showcasing late-era Neo Geo power with massive characters and detailed animations. The mobile version includes the standard ACA features like save states and customizable controls, which are vital for a game this difficult. While touch controls are a bit tough for high-level combos, connecting a Bluetooth controller makes this an flawless arcade experience. It’s a retro masterclass.

Dinsun here. Now we're talking. Sengoku 3 is a relic from a better time. The sprite work is gorgeous—some of the best SNK ever did. The combat is surprisingly deep for a brawler, with a combo system that actually requires timing and precision. My issue, as always with these ports, is the touch controls. This game was designed for an arcade stick, and trying to pull off complex chains on a flat piece of glass is a nightmare. If you have a Bluetooth controller, it’s a 75/100. On its own? It’s a 70. It’s hard, it’s unforgiving, and it doesn't hold your hand. Exactly how games should be.
