For the uninitiated, the SaGa series has always been the rebellious sibling of Final Fantasy, ditching linear storytelling for the 'Free Scenario System.' This remaster doesn't just sharpen the pixels; it fundamentally completes the game by finally adding Fuse as a playable eighth protagonist, integrating content that was left on the cutting room floor back in 1997.

The gameplay remains beautifully obtuse. Characters don't level up in the traditional sense; they gain stats based on actions in battle and 'glimmer' new skills mid-fight when the pressure is on. It’s a system that rewards experimentation and risk-taking. On mobile, the UI has been surprisingly well-adapted, with snappy menus and a high-speed mode that makes the inevitable grinding a breeze.
