Dinsun Review
Sometimes you don't want a complex narrative or deep strategy; you just want to jump on some tofu. Tofu Girl is refreshingly honest about what it is. It’s a one-button game that tests your rhythm and patience. The art style is adorable, and the sound of the 'thud' when you land a perfect jump is surprisingly satisfying. It’s the kind of game I find myself playing for five minutes while waiting for my coffee.
Of course, there isn't much depth here. Once you've seen the first few minutes, you've seen everything the game has to offer. The skins and tofu variations are a nice touch, but they don't change the gameplay. It’s also fairly ad-heavy, which is par for the course with these 'hyper-casual' games, but at least the ads here don't feel quite as predatory as in some other titles. It’s not a game I’d sit down and play for an hour, but as a digital fidget toy, it’s quite successful. It’s cute, it’s polished, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome.
