I'll give credit where it's due: 10tons knows how to build a shooter. Tesla vs Lovecraft is a tight, mechanical experience that doesn't waste time. The gimmick of Tesla fighting Cthulhu-esque monsters is a bit played out in the 'indie' scene, but the perk system keeps the moment-to-moment gameplay interesting enough. The mech suits provide a nice power fantasy, though the duration feels a bit short for my liking.
However, as a gamer who values clarity, the screen often becomes an unreadable mess of neon sparks and purple blood. It’s hard to call something strategic when you can’t see the projectile that killed you. The meta-progression is standard fare—satisfying for a while, but eventually, you realize you're just inflating numbers to keep up with the enemy's inflated health. It’s good for a few hours of focused destruction, but it lacks the 'one more run' magic of the true genre greats.
