The Day We Fought Space is a breath of fresh air for the shoot-em-up genre. It moves away from the 'bullet hell' tropes and focuses on physics-based combat. Dinsun here. I’ve played a lot of space shooters, and this one has a satisfying 'heaviness' to it. It’s not just about dodging bright patterns; it’s about smashing through things. Using a giant wrecking ball to clear a path feels great and sets it apart from the dozens of generic clones on the store.

The art style is vibrant and leans into a retro-future aesthetic that works well. My biggest issue is that the physics can sometimes work against you, leading to some 'cheap' deaths where your own momentum or a piece of debris traps you. It’s a bit unpolished in the UI department, but the core action is solid enough for a recommendation.
