The Room Two in IOS

A time-spanning journey

Our Site Score

98/100

The Room Two is a masterclass in tactile puzzle design. It captures the physical sensation of manipulating intricate machinery better than almost any other game in history. Every click of a brass latch, every slide of a secret compartment, and the haunting hum of an ancient lens feels incredibly satisfying. It’s not just a puzzle game; it’s a journey through a series of atmospheric, clockwork vignettes that tell a dark, Lovecraftian story through environmental clues.

Compared to the first game, The Room Two expands the scope significantly. Instead of a single box, you are now exploring entire rooms filled with interconnected mysteries. One puzzle might require you to find a code on a ship's deck that unlocks a chest across the cabin. The difficulty is perfectly pitched—hard enough to make you feel like a genius when you solve it, but never so obscure that you feel cheated. If you own an iPad or an iPhone and haven't played this yet, you are missing out on what is arguably the gold standard for mobile gaming.

Dinsun Review

I don’t hand out high scores often, but The Room Two deserves every bit of praise it gets. In an industry full of mindless match-three garbage, this is a reminder of what mobile gaming can actually achieve. The tactile nature of the puzzles is unparalleled—when you slide a bolt or turn a key, the haptic feedback and sound design make it feel real. It’s the closest you can get to a physical puzzle box without actually owning one.

The sequel's decision to move to larger environments was a smart play. It adds a sense of place and mystery that the first game lacked. The atmosphere is thick enough to cut with a knife; it’s spooky without relying on cheap jump scares. My only real complaint is that it ends. You’ll be so engrossed in the world that when the final puzzle clicks into place, you’ll just want more. It’s an older title now, but it has aged like fine wine. If you haven't played this, you’re missing out on the gold standard of mobile design.
