Fireproof Games Continues to Amaze
Thu Nov 12 2015 Whit1981With The Room Three the epic puzzle journey continues. One of the biggest reasons you can enjoy The Room Three is due to the absolutely fantastic art and decorum of the game. The folks at Fireproof know how to create some beautiful artwork, and believe me, The Room Three is artwork. When you throw in the engaging puzzles with their satisfying sounds and awesome animations, you're left with a puzzle game that simply blows away anything you'll find on the App Store. The competition is not even close. The Room Three is a game I mostly play at night right before I go to bed. It's a game that is very imaginative. The story is just esoteric enough to not border on contrived and ridiculous. The gameplay is great. Some have suggested the controls can be awkward. Yet my experience has been the controls are very responsive and though I haven't finished the game yet I have put in a few hours and I have not had any problems at all. In fact,I applaud the game maker for making the controls so lifelike and fluid. It has no equal in the App Store for its genre of game. Also, I wanted to give a lot of credit to the game maker for only charging 5 bucks. We all pay a lot more for far less entertainment and content. Get this game and be prepared for a lot of fun. Bottom line is The Room Three may very well be the best game ever, as a whole, in the App Store. I cannot endorse or recommend this game enough. Everything about it is stunning and a work of art.
Nothing compares to The Room series
Mon May 30 2016 Kay_RockThe Room series sets the standard for iPad gaming, and so far nothing else I've found comes close to competing. Fully immersive, spectacular graphics, beautiful sound, and a challenging experience. The first time I played the first in the series, my jaw dropped, and I have been on a quest for truly excellent gaming ever since. There are a handful of good games out there (paltry few), but so far The Room is still king.
Room 3 adds a level of complexity by not only maintaining the "zoom in closer... closer...." puzzles, but rather than focusing on one area that can be explored on a macro and micro level, you explore many such areas. There are times in this game where it starts to feel more like the "map searching" of a HOG than it has in the past two iterations, and some of the wonder of infinite size and complexity gets lost as you're simply moving from room to room (only in a few spots in the game, though) but over all they have maintained the integrity of the series. If you've stumbled on this without being familiar with the first two games, run (don't walk) to the original Room game and purchase it now. Warning: once you've started on these games, you will be spoiled. Every other game out there will feel flat and you'll realize how much other mobile game developers have failed to truly take advantage of the platform.
Absolutely Brilliant
Fri Jan 08 2016 JoeZaaronAs a long-time fan of the "Room" trilogy, I can say that the "Room Three", like the other two, is magnificently crafted and clearly highly sophisticated, offering an UNFORGETTABLE experience; except THIS installment is the "most" complex and elaborate of the three. A roughly 6-7 hour intriguing storyline (depending on how much of a genius you are), a mind-blowing conclusion, stunning visuals, and packed with extra content for you to play with after completing the story the first time around. The "Room" games profoundly exceed even the "highest" expectations for a mobile/tablet game, and should be considered for development on a larger scale - PC, Consoles, etc. I got chills as I trekked through the missions one by one with my earphones on at midnight every night, as a "before-bed tradition" for a whole week. I advise anyone who wants the best experience, to do the same. I don't usually write reviews for "iPad apps", but this is beyond anything I have ever played; let alone played on an iPad! "Fireproof Games" should continue down this road of game development, so we can continue to experience such astounding journeys. The "Room Three", and its previous titles, are gems of gameplay experiences that will continue to live on and have a true impact on its audiences. I commend the developers for this work of art, and highly encourage others to immerse themselves in this legendary franchise!!!
Absolutely the BEST GAME EVER! Part 3 The Quest Continues!
Sat Nov 19 2016 westredHaving solved The Room 1 & 2 with complete puzzle solving satisfaction, my only quibble was that I solved them so rapidly I wish they were more lengthy. Small quibble indeed, though, as with each revision The Room becomes even more elegantly lavish, both audibly and graphically! But the graphics are the SO spectacular, they can be awe inspiring! Combine these attributes with the intricate movements, precision of delicate instrument tuning, and overall originality of all devices, rooms, and environments there within, and this series stands out as THE BEST GAME, period, that the Apple App Store has to offer!
Having just dove in to the 3rd offering from this first class app developer, in can already feel the wonder and intrigue engulfing every sense of my human being. These are truly wonderful pieces of hidden adventure and mystery just waiting to be tested and tasted by anyone who has a keen intrigue into solving the mysterious and surrounding ones self in pure fascination!
I have not been so enthralled by a scenic, mysterious, adventure in the puzzling genre since the, so long ago, original, awe inspired story wrapped in a puzzle, surrounded by a riddle, and hidden within an enigma, since the MYST series of computer games!
If you want to heighten your ever curious sense of mystery solving just purchase this game. It is well worth the price of admission!
Wonderful game, but crashes a lot.
Thu Nov 12 2015 StumpyGnomeI have purchased and played all three "The Room" games and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I have played the first two multiple times and was very excited to see there was a third. The graphics are superb, although a little dark. I had a difficult time in some areas where reflections on my screen obscured some of the darker areas in a room (I did play with the lights off in a dark room when I had the chance and that helped, but still ran into areas where I almost missed things because they were in shadow). I also really enjoyed the multiple endings. My one big issue with this game is the amount of crashes I had to endure just to get through it. Now, it may have just been my iPad, but, especially after reaching the first ending, it would crash on me almost every five minutes. I would unlock/open an inventory item, only to have the game crash, have to reload and go back and get it (it was already unlocked, just had to work my way back to it and "pick it up" again). The crashes became very annoying and I almost decided to stop playing, but I'm a bit of a completionist and pushed on. All in all, I love these games and I hope Fireproof continues to make them (if the story allows). Despite the crashes, it's definitely worth the $5.
Disappointed with alternative endings.
Sun Jul 04 2021 OnlyMortySo I beat the game. You can then revisit to find other ways to win. This is where my 5 star experience turns into a 2 star experience. I accidentally clicked the room that sends you to the outside observatory which is the last room in the game before you beat it. I didn’t want to go here but there’s no way back once you’re here. If I click restart chapter it simply restarts from the animation of me warping into the room I don’t want to be in. If I go to the main menu I can only continue or make a new profile. So basically my only option is to beet the last room again before I can restart the game in the main house where I was before I clicked the door. I find this so so annoying. So annoying in fact that I’m refusing to go through that again just to get back to where I want to be. It’s bad foresight on the development end and because of that I’m leaving a 2 star review and refusing to finish the other 4 puzzles until this is fixed. If you’re going to let someone free roam to discover alternative endings after they beet the game you should let them return to different areas that locked you inside in the original game if they click the wrong thing. The puzzles are great but this new alternative ending thing you guys are trying wasn’t very well thought out IMO. If I click restart chapter on an alternative ending campaign it should take me to the very beginning, end of story.
Completely wonderful
Sun Jan 24 2016 Ricker99I have been playing The Room series since its inception. It is hands-down the best game experience on the iPhone. I enjoy a good strategy far more than "shoot-em-ups", and this serves up serious strategic puzzles in an intensely intricate way. I love the hint system. It is there when you want it, but you are free to ignore it to try your own way first. And the timing of the hint system is perfect. You can tell the game authors took their time and actually played this game through while paying attention to the complexity of each puzzle. The hints don't even appear at first so that you can't be dragged down into "hint-addiction". Rather, they appear just when you think you really need them and even then, you're free to ignore them if you think you're so smart. And even then, each hint is "tiered" with small details at first before giving way to larger details. Wonderful! The details are amazing. The intricate puzzles are just right. The atmosphere and story line top-shelf. I know The Room Three was delayed for several months. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! I sure hope the authors' creative juices are already flowing for the next iteration. Thanks for an excellent game! This game would be worth $10 for the next iteration based on my experiences with the authors. Simply amazing.
The Rooms just keep getting better
Sat Nov 14 2015 KaraLJ218I stumbled across The Room as a suggested app I could like. I purchased it and couldn't finish it soon enough. It was almost too short. Then The Room Two was released. I didn't hesitate to buy it. It had more puzzles and a longer game time than the first. I was happily pleased with the purchase. The other day I was in the App Store and saw The Room Three had been created. I couldn't have bought it any faster, and this one is by far my favorite. There are so many puzzles, ranging from fairly easy to really needing to think and almost run through all the possibilities before you find the answer. Should all else fail, the hints are available. And I love how the hints never give the answer so blatantly at the start. They'll ease you into the answer. Usually a little step in the right direction is all I need to figure out my next move so I appreciate that. Aside from each the puzzles, there are alternate endings, which so far I've only discovered how to be imprisoned haha, but I'm excited to reveal the others. There's so much more I could say about this game, but if you need to know one thing, it's that you won't be disappointed. I hope the creators continue this series and make many more Rooms. You have a forever customer.
Only two complaints
Sat Jul 14 2018 firsttimecaller421. One of the puzzles is so subtle, I missed it for two days. I kept coming back because I knew it did something, but could not see results without a specific movement. I did not use the hints unless I absolutely needed them, but then they're not available with the alternate endings. Not cool. 2. The endings are not obvious. I was expecting the directions (maybe a transport to the Portal after retrieving the first device?) to be much clearer, because I was wandering around for a half day looking for more puzzles, or some direction of what to do. The last thing I wanted to do was go somewhere I couldn't get back and need to do things all over again. As it is, I solved all 3 endings before I even entered the portal again. All that being said, it really is a 5-star game, and I wouldn't dock anything, even for my difficulty.
Update: I’m playing this for a second time, and I realize you have to setup the final mechanism EVERY time you want a different ending. I can understand wanting to keep with continuity, in that you’re actually changing what you do, but it’s far too repetitive. I would recommend showing all devices in the players inventory, but then revert to the most recent progress when you get to the projectors. Be kind.
Pros & Cons

The graphics continue to get better and better, along with an intriguing and mysterious storyline, with great ambience as well. Very reminiscent of the popular 90's game Myst.
But I have to admit to being surprisingly disappointed in this edition. It seems the focus has gone solely to the look of the items and surroundings, and the opposite to the actual puzzles themselves. I love the feel of this game as described above, but I feel the puzzles are the #1 aspect of this game. So, as I was very excited to start playing this, I became quickly disappointed when I realized the puzzles almost seemed like an afterthought. It was mostly solving an easy puzzle just to collect an item and then wander around trying to find where the item went. Yes, that still required some thinking, but it was more tedious than fun.
I'm sorry to have to criticize this game, I guess it is selfish of me because the potential to be the best game I have ever played clearly exists. The makers of this game probably wanted to appeal to a wider audience, but I feel they will lose true fans of the original The Room. If I could give a suggestion, I would say make 2 versions next time: an easier one and a harder one, and maybe sell them separately so you could still make your fair amount of profit.
