I usually have no patience for these 'lifestyle' apps, but having this under the Netflix umbrella changes the math. For once, you aren't being nickel-and-dimed for a different shade of purple hair dye. As a piece of software, it’s polished. The character designs are distinct in that Toca Boca way—which I find a bit unsettling, but children seem to love. The tools react realistically enough to touch, and there’s a genuine sense of 'play' here that most modern mobile games lack.
However, let’s not call it a 'game.' It’s a digital dollhouse. There’s no challenge, no win condition, and no depth beyond the immediate tactile response. If you're over the age of ten, you'll be bored in fifteen minutes. But as a service-inclusive title for parents, it’s a rare example of a mobile app that isn't actively trying to steal your credit card info every three seconds. That alone earns it some respect in my book.
