Trickcal: Chibi Go in IOS

Our Site Score

83/100

Trickcal Chibi Go is a breath of fresh air in the auto-battler genre. The art style is undeniably the biggest draw—the 'squishy' chibi designs are incredibly cute and full of personality. But beneath that sugary exterior lies a surprisingly deep tactical game. The way units interact based on their position and synergies requires actual thought, especially in the later stages.

The Gacha system feels relatively fair, and the game provides plenty of opportunities for free-to-play players to earn premium currency. The animations are fluid, and the sound design perfectly complements the whimsical theme. It’s a great 'side game' that offers enough complexity to keep you engaged without demanding hours of manual grinding every day.

Dinsun Review

I’ve seen this song and dance a hundred times. Trickcal Chibi Go leans entirely on its visual gimmick—wide-eyed chibi sprites that are clearly designed to sell merchandise rather than provide a rigorous gaming experience. As a man who grew up with games that actually required you to use your brain, watching these little characters bump into each other in an auto-battle loop feels more like watching a screen saver than playing a game. The UI is cluttered with the typical modern 'gacha' hooks, constantly trying to steer you toward a storefront instead of a tutorial.

While the character designs are admittedly clean and the animations are smooth, there’s a distinct lack of 'soul' behind the mechanics. You pull for units, you watch them fight, and you wait for a bar to fill up so you can do it again. It’s functional, sure, but it’s conservative in its risk-taking. It doesn't push the genre forward; it just dresses up the same old mobile tropes in a new Sunday bonnet. If you’re looking for a serious strategy title, keep looking.
