Our Site Score

85/100

Tricky Mean 2 is a delight for those who enjoy being outsmarted. It captures the 'aha!' moment better than almost any other game on the App Store. The beauty of the game lies in its subversion of expectations; just when you think you've figured out its patterns, it throws a level at you that requires a completely new way of thinking.

The art style is clean and playful, which balances out the occasional frustration of a particularly difficult riddle. It's the kind of game you play with friends or family just to see their reactions to the absurd solutions. While it can be briefly maddening, the satisfaction of finally 'getting it' is immense. It's a sharp, witty, and highly creative sequel that improves on the original in every way.

Dinsun Review

The first Tricky Mean was mildly amusing. This sequel is just mean. It’s full of puzzles where the solution isn't logical—it's just a 'gotcha' moment. For example, 'Tap the largest fruit' might mean you have to shake your phone to make a fruit fall or tap a word in the prompt. It’s not clever; it’s annoying. I like puzzles that make me feel smart when I solve them, not puzzles that make me feel like I’m being pranked by a teenager.

The UI is clunky, and the hints are locked behind ads, which feels incredibly cynical given how obtuse the puzzles are. It’s a low-effort experience meant to generate frustration and, by extension, ad views. If you want to actually test your brain, buy a book of crosswords.
