I loved 98% of it
Sat Apr 04 2020 mdwstmattThis is a super game and I recommend it with very minor quibbles.
The art and atmosphere are superb. It was not a short game which was great because I use them to lull myself to sleep. Visually it’s stunning and puzzle wise, it’s challenging.
The puzzles are inventive and wide ranging but solutions can occasionally be pretty obscure.
The polygraph results were barely visible on my retina screen and I would have never gotten that part of that puzzle.
The red screen monitor/robot gave me no indication I could interact with the screen at all. I found out by accident.
The X-ray didn’t appear to be interactive until at least the 10th time I placed it and accidentally dragged a finger across the image.
The transition time from screen to screen is looooong. Far too much time is spent transitioning from area to area or within a scene.
The electrical short sound and one or two other sounds sometimes persist after leaving the area and when using headphones, you will go completely mad hearing them.
The beginning of a chapter came out of nowhere and some chapters seem extremely short while others are long.
These are minor quibbles and I was amazed to hear back from the game maker when I had an issue. He literally emailed me 36 hours after I sent in my message. Considering it’s a two person office, that amazing.
All in all, I’ll definitely buy their next game. This one was great.
Best one yet?
Mon Aug 31 2020 VoicestraI’ve been a fan of Glitch Games for years. This might be the best one yet, and that is saying something considering the Forever Lost series. The puzzles are sufficiently challenging without being totally obscure; there is a logic behind solutions, with only a few instances where you feel guessing is the only way. The hint system is nicely done. It doesn’t give away the game if you need just a little boost, and you can always delve deeper into the hint if you are completely lost.
The atmosphere is incredible. Immersive graphics, appropriately moody music, and a storyline that just won’t quit. I mean that literally; there are computer terminals that provide depth to the back story that is an easy rabbit hole to fall down if you aren’t careful.
I had to go back and replay the ending a couple of times to make sure the game didn’t “glitch” and skip to the ending. It was that abrupt an ending, which was disconcerting. My only other quibble is photos aren’t stored in the order you take them, so if you have lots of pics (which you will, guaranteed) you need to search through them to find what you are looking for. And if you take multiple pictures of a single view (which you will, guaranteed) they are dispersed throughout your collection and more difficult to find.
Minor complaints though, for a truly outstanding game. I am already impatiently awaiting the sequel.
Veritas is fantastic
Fri Feb 14 2020 stuntbushAnother homerun by Glitch Games. My all time favorite games includes the Forever Lost series. I’m a huge fan of all of their games so I was super excited to see Veritas finally released. This game is on par with all their other games and will not disappoint. The puzzles are harder and more challenging in some respects but so satisfying when it finally clicks. There is an onscreen hint system but I implore you not to use it. Keep trying new things. I had to take a minute and put my phone down, many times. The game is a good length and the camera is such a lifesaver. My only negative comment would be the story. It didn’t grab me like some of the other games. I thought it seemed a tiny bit underdeveloped but in no way should this be a deal breaker for you, as the story is still solid. Download it. Play it. Play it again in 6 months. It’s that good.
Great Game
Sun Jun 28 2020 AMH05Very well-done point-and-click style puzzle game. The puzzles were fun and engaging (though often a little easy compared to Forever Lost). For the most part, they are well-constructed and the designers avoid falling into the guess-what-I’m-thinking trap that is not uncommon in puzzle/logic games.
The story is pretty good, though the ending a little abrupt (leaving the door open for Part 2?)
My only other criticism is something common to pretty much every point-and-click style game I’ve played on a mobile device: it can be difficult to determine what is “clickable” and what isn’t, especially with a somewhat finicky touch screen. There were places where I found myself double-checking with hints because I was *pretty sure* I knew what I was supposed to do, but was having trouble with the mechanics of it. Unfortunately that sometimes reveals more of the solution than I wanted to see, so I would love to see a game developed that takes this into account somehow.
Help I’m addicted!
Mon Jun 17 2024 Person-not-machineFirst of all, hats off to the devs for the clever reference to Holly v Q in that ep of red dwarf. No one ever gets my references to that show; I laughed so hard when I saw that. Likewise with all the quotes and references to 80s/90s movies and the great sci-fi writers. Your games have fantastic storytelling, never boring and they always keep me immersed. I ADORE all the cheeky notes and self-aware comments, and the puzzles are extremely satisfying and hard enough to always stay interesting. I still owe you rave reviews on Cabin Escape, Forever lost 1-2-3, and the Forgotten Room as well.
Like many others I came here after playing The Room series and then House of Da Vinci. I’m so happy I gave Glitch games a chance, I’m afraid I am about to binge-play them all and then wonder what to do with the rest of my life.
I’m conflicted. It’s amazing and yet tedious
Sun Jul 24 2022 CarmexusI love escape games. Have been playing them for decades. This is the first I’ve played from this developer. For the most part I enjoyed the experience but there was a couple things that make me hesitate trying another.
What I love:
-Having a storyline that is pretty easy to follow.
-The puzzles were mostly logical and medium difficulty.
-the hint function was helpful from time to time.
-the camera to take screenshots of things you want to remember
-the ability to write on the photos you take
What was not enjoyable:
-the edit function on the photos was buggy on my iPhone. It would often close the photo you were writing on. I eventually just used the screenshot function of my phone.
-it was tedious to get around the large world. I spent a good chunk of my time wandering aimlessly around trying to find a certain clue or object that was many rooms in the past. Then getting back to where you needed to go. Was just so tedious. I found I greatly prefer games that keep you confined to 1-2 rooms only for ease of accessibility. Sure it was a little more realistic, but it got old, fast.
Overall a good quality game. Not sure if I’ll try another though just due to the tediousness of it.
Stunning. Absolutely brilliant!
Wed Feb 12 2020 ally555By far the best Glitch ever created. It has it all...Great storyline, intelligent puzzles, clever interactives, detailed scenery, lots of rooms to explore, cool background music, ambiance, immersion and hours & hours of game play. I was one of those who pre-ordered and eagerly waited for the release date...and was not disappointed at all. Seems like they tried to make their puzzles less obtuse than prior games. As such, the walkthrough is hardly needed, if at all. Some puzzles were almost too easy. But they gave us LOTS to solve and lots of free roaming exploration to always keep you engaged and solving away. Absolutely loved it. Huge thanks to the Glitch team. You guys rock!
When’s the next game so I can send you my pre-order money? 😂
Yet another fantastic game from Glitch Games!
Wed Feb 12 2020 SyllabaryBisqueSo I feel like I’ve been waiting years for this game to release and woke up at midnight to download it and get to playing! And I’ve gotta say, I am so glad that you took your time and put so much effort in creating such an excellent game! It was very enjoyable, like all of your games are.
Took seven hours of straight gameplay to beat it. Even with a familiarity of how Glitch Games usually are, I found quite a few puzzles to be very challenging and creative.
As always, the camera feature is hands-down one of the best parts of this game, just like with all the others. The puzzles are creative and intricate, and the storyline is awesome. I always get so immersed in the backstories of these games and love all the Easter eggs y’all like to throw in, as well as awesome pop culture references!
Giving this game two thumbs up! I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to play through again. Now I’m just bummed that I have to wait for the next release! Congrats on completing Veritas, guys, and thank you for all that you do. You’re definitely my favorite developer and I cannot wait for the next game!
Be Still, My Heart!
Tue Feb 18 2020 JustniinaI only found Glitch Games all of 2 weeks ago and I’ve played every game they offer now, including this gorgeous gem. As a massive nerd for Easter Eggs and references, this game is a gold mine for them. The funny jokes/comments were also on point as usual. The effort in which you put into those treats along with the audio and visuals... I’m simply in love! And as expected, the puzzles were all amazing- which is what drives us all to play these types of games. I cannot wait to see where the story goes when you make this into a trilogy (I’m counting on it)! Thank you for creating these worlds for us. I, for one, feel connected to something for a change when I play in them.
Forever grateful,
Niina
Very fun, but the noise was awful
Sun Oct 27 2024 AlyssmotOverall, I enjoyed this game. Most of the steps in solving each puzzle made sense. A few seemed totally random, but it was better than many other games in the genre. My biggest gripe was the background noise. There was the constant sound of fans whirring, tv static, alarms blaring, etc. I understand having some noise for ambiance, but it seems like the developers picked the most grating and annoying sounds possible and left them on constantly. While I could adjust the settings to turn the sound off/down, that meant also getting rid of all the other non-ambient sounds as well. It really soured what was otherwise a fun game.
