War of Evolution is clearly inspired by the classic game 'Spore,' and it does a decent job of bringing that 'microbe-to-space' journey to mobile. The early stages are the most fun—swimming around as a tiny organism, eating smaller creatures, and evolving your appearance. The customization is surprisingly deep, allowing you to change your creature's shape, limbs, and colors to create something truly unique. It feels like a creative sandbox in those first twenty minutes.

However, the game shifts gears significantly once you hit the 'Tribe' and 'Civilization' stages. It transitions into more of a standard mobile strategy/base-builder, which might disappoint those looking for a pure evolution sim. The forced tutorials in these later stages can be a bit tedious, but the overall scope of the game—eventually reaching for the stars and building a galactic empire—is impressive for a mobile title. If you go into it expecting a blend of creature creation and light empire management, you'll find a lot to like. It's a colorful, ambitious title that captures the spirit of survival of the fittest.
