Look, Word Wow Seasons isn't trying to reinvent the wheel, and that’s both its strength and its downfall. As someone who’s seen word games come and go since the early days of PC gaming, I find the core mechanic of clearing a path for a worm to be a serviceable hook. It requires a bit more foresight than your standard Boggle clone because you have to manage the physical space of the board. However, once you've played through the first dozen levels, you've essentially seen everything the game has to offer. The difficulty curve is gentle—perhaps too gentle for those of us looking for a real mental workout.
The 'No Ads' aspect is the real selling point here. It's refreshing to play a mobile game that doesn't interrupt your flow every two minutes with a flashy video. That said, the presentation is dated. The character designs and UI feel like they were pulled straight from the mid-2000s flash game era. It’s competent and it works, but it doesn't inspire much excitement. If you want a quiet, unpretentious word game to kill time during a commute, this is fine. Just don't expect a masterpiece.
