Traditional Cards Game

Our Site Score

78/100

iScopa brings the classic Italian card game to the iPhone with a lot of charm and authenticity. Scopa is all about memory and strategy, and this app captures that tension perfectly. The use of traditional Italian card designs (like the Napoletane deck) is a wonderful touch that makes the experience feel genuine.

The AI is competent, though it can occasionally be predictable once you've played a few dozen matches. However, the online multiplayer works well and is where the game really shines. It's a must-have for anyone of Italian descent or anyone who just loves a good, fast-paced card game that isn't another version of Solitaire.

Dinsun Review

Scopa is a game of memory and quick thinking, and iScopa gets the core mechanics exactly right. I appreciate the inclusion of the various regional Italian decks; it adds a layer of authenticity that many generic card apps miss. The AI is reasonably challenging on the higher settings, which is more than I can say for most digital card games I’ve reviewed lately.

The problem is the multiplayer. In 2026, I expect a seamless online experience, but iScopa feels stuck in the past. Long matchmaking times and frequent disconnects make playing against real people a frustrating ordeal. If you’re content playing against the computer, it’s a perfectly fine app. If you’re looking for a competitive online scene, you’ll be disappointed. It’s a good game wrapped in mediocre software.
