Breathtaking
Thu May 21 2020 AbkslmThis game is amazing. The level design is on point, the physics are stunningly accurate, the art style is beautiful, and the story is beyond intelligent (seriously, these developers are on some next level stuff). I found myself very relaxed through almost all of the levels, however, Memory (which I assume is the final level) is beyond frustrating. I must’ve attempted it at least 100 times now, and I still haven’t been able to finish it. I went from a state of “zen” so to speak, to sheer frustration. While some may find this challenge fun, in all honesty, it’s the reason I won’t be playing this game again. I don’t think the final level should be a walk in the park, but the fact that I have maxed out my plane and have enough “blue gems” to do so again (most of which are solely from this level) is a tad bit ridiculous. If not for the frustration of this final level, I would’ve ecstatically given this game 5 stars. This game is definitely worth a play (even a subscription to Arcade), just don’t expect the calmness of the early levels to last.
Surprised by the poor reviews
Mon Jan 06 2020 S0tcratesNot sure who these people are who are saying that the controls are “terrible” or that it’s “too challenging”. I mean, what?? The challenge is welcome and it’s a *natural* challenge, rather than some deliberate “impossible to beat”-type level progression. The flight physics are outstanding but some of these kids think that a paper airplane has jet engines and should be able to rocket through the sky in every direction. If you think about it realistically, and spend a little bit of time getting a feel for the aircraft, it should click and you’ll feel like you have much more control over your flight path. By the time I reached the last 2-3 levels I had fully maxed my upgrades so I was just piling on the blue gems, which are now worthless, I guess. I have somewhere around 30K at the moment so it would be cool to be able to use them on consumables or cosmetics or something if there aren’t any upgrades left to make. Anyway, I love this game and wish there were more levels, fantastic job — don’t second guess yourself based on some of these fortnite kiddies’ reviews. Especially the guy who is “laughing at the game for all the wrong reasons”. Reading his review made me cringe.
Wow…
Tue Dec 21 2021 outer space geniusThis game is a masterpiece. “Wow” is probably the best word to use for it. The scenery and graphics alone where good enough to get this game, but the music honestly, I think was half the fun. Seriously this music is like… just more wows. I think it would be amazing to have an option to be able to just listen to the music. Because you can’t really hear it when you are paused. It just sounds like it’s underwater, witch is still cool but not quite as sharp sounding as normal. I also noticed a little problem with the last level: I noticed that when I go to replay memory, the song doesn’t work. Sorry, just THESE SONGS!!!!! Anyway, that’s like the only problem that I could find other than when I made a new game it didn’t reset my plane parts. I don’t know if this was on purpose or just a one time glitch but I just thought I’d mention it. It’s not really that big a deal though, compared to the rest of the wowy game.
Sorry It seems a little late to do a review for this game, but I couldn’t just not say that it’s one of my favorites.
Customization=5 stars
Tue Apr 28 2020 🍎arcadefanThis is a great game, I love the emotion you feel through the transitions between levels, as if you’re actually growing along with the game. All the feelings packed into something as simple as flying a paper airplane is such a brilliant concept. It’s a fantastic game, but I just gotta throw in my 2 cents of constructive feedback. Another person has already pointed this out, so I’m just upvoting their idea. The gems. They’re pretty easy to come by, and once you upgrade your luck to the max, the plane parts are just as easy to get. So a cosmetics/customization update would make this a 5 star game for sure. I understand that there aren’t a whole lot of paper airplanes with a unique look, but I can think of at least 3 more with different looks and skills. If none of this is deemed important to the developer, then at least make gems a little bit harder to come by. I’ve only had the game for a day and almost have everything maxed out. So if it’s not too much trouble, consider these ideas and and that 3.5 rating total is bound to increase. Thank you.
The earlier version was better
Fri Jan 31 2020 Krystahl WillowI use touch controls because it was easier. Since the newest update things went weird; the perspective is different, the speed my plane once went at is slowed down, and it’s just so different and not what I was originally used to. In the earlier version the blue plane went fast and really nothing slowed it down unless it completely went yeet. Now, it goes half as fast and slows down very quickly. I mastered the game and finished all the levels before the new update and I maxed all the improvements so nothing is wrong with the aerodynamics. (oh yea the developers changed the name to something else) I really liked the touch controls of the earlier version, the update description said “Easier to play” but it really isn’t. I did not check, but the developers might have made the tilt more playable but just completely ruined the touch.
However, before the new update, I really enjoyed this game. I’d play my favorite music and replay some of the levels. This is the only reason why I gave this 4 stars
Have a noice day
Fantastic
Thu Apr 02 2020 JMII89Hard to believe a game can be relaxing and challenging at the same time. You really get into a zen like state gliding your plane thru life. Between the environments and music this game is joy to play. The more you play the more in tune with that little folded sheet of paper you become, there are subtle clues from the wind noise to the paper flapping that clue you in on how the plane is flying. There are few tricky levels but nothing frustrating. The key is get into a flow, you can’t force things or button mash here. Looking forward to more levels. I have go back and collect all the other planes.
Took off just 1 star for being a touch short, it was over just as I was really getting into it. Be nice to have a miles flown, gems collected, top speed or some other goals to achieve to encourage a second play thru on various levels.
The frustration quickly outweighs fun
Wed Jan 08 2020 Bag_OneDynamite idea but basically unplayable on AppleTV. Tilting the siri remote to control the glider could be really satisfying but it’s buggy as hell. To pitch the nose down you tilt the remote down, but since your thumb needs to be on a button tilting down is way harder than it needs to be. Simple exercise: hold your remote with a thumb on any button and point it from your tv to the floor and you’ll see- human wrist doesn’t do that. Add that to the fact you’re flying at low altitude at high speed and it just gets infuriating after about a minute.
Add that to the fact that there’s a calibrate button with no instructions that doesn’t seem to do anything.
Add that to the fact that for some reason I have to turn the remote sideways to navigate the menu screen.
Add that to the fact I went and bought a PS4 controller and it also doesn’t work to control the craft, not through touch, tilt, or even the control sticks.
In summary I’d be mad if I paid for this game, or if I worked on developing it and this was the end result.
Gorgeous, fun, keeps you wanting more

This game is incredible. I would love to work with these developers - they seem like creative geniuses.
The concept of flying through a life journey is so unique and I found it thought provoking. The art is simple, geometric, with a slightly unfinished feel - but stunning and fitting.
The controls are fluid and responsive. The music is very pleasing and flows with the stages of the game.
I’ve beaten the game all the way through and I keep playing it. The upgrade/improve feature is nice because it isn’t plane specific so you always have your upgrades, even if you switch planes.
Tips:
1. If you’re struggling on a level, pick a “line” and stick to it. Don’t chase after gems as it will just slow you done with all the turning. Instead, wait for the gems to come to you and focus on trying to stay on a consistent route.
2. For quick upgrades, play until you pass the level “Harvest”. Then you can go to “Level Select” in Story and pick “Harvest”. (Bonus tip: crash before you get to the next level, “Fulfill” and Restart as this will be the fastest way to restart harvest for more blue gems.)
P.S to the devs:
I love you
Tedious levels
Fri Aug 21 2020 FroMasterOverall the game was enjoyable. One of the mid levels was near impossible to pass and then miraculously and without warning we advanced. But the last level, Memory, was so tedious and frustrating that it ruined the game. My 11 year old son and I must have attempted the level 500 if not 1,000 times. We tried every plane. We tried every path. We never go more than halfway through. We never felt like we were missing something. We only felt the game was no longer fun, and we are done. In fact, I’m canceling my entire Apple Arcade subscription to avoid any more wasted time on games like this.
UPDATE: right after I wrote my review my son wanted to give the last level one more go, so we opened the game and all the levels were locked!!!!!! We did quit the game instead of just closing the app, but losing 100% of our progress? So glad I am never going to be tempted to play this ridiculous game again.
Beautiful
Fri Aug 07 2020 Gray Dog LadyI am 68, and I do not have the reaction time or coordination for most video games. This game is beautiful, fun, and I am making regular progress. It is interesting enough for me to keep repeating the levels until I make it through. My main issue involves when
I pick up the green triangle for boost. It frequently does not respond to my tapping, which leads to me crashing. I am currently working on the level Dare which requires that you continuously pick up boosts to stay high enough, and it may be the downfall of the entire experience. This same criticism applies to the hearts and the orange triangles that open doors. I crash into the door so often, I ignore them, but still can make it through the level. Please fix this.
