Great, but used to be less buggy
Fri May 14 2021 ElIhzdbdnThis game has always been fun to me, since the first time I played. I think that it’s well made, has comedic value with funny characters and dialogue, and the combat is really fun.
However, when I played it upon launch, it was fairly smooth, what I would’ve expected for a game at launch. But since some of the recent updates, it seems more glitchy and buggy? The game will drop to -2 frames it seems for 7 seconds during flight, combat, etc., and every time I’m going into the garage to customize my ship, the reactor page is bugged? It’s saying I can craft 4, but when I open the tab it shows one, and the recipe isn’t for that item, it’s for a gun. And then when I click the reactor (in my case specifically, the reactor is the Tankus 1200 and the gun is the Patient Zero or a bootleg quad disruptor) it takes me to the gun, not the reactor. This makes it EXTREMELY frustrating when I grind and search for materials to craft and upgrade my load, and I can’t. I’ve resorted to burying all my funds into upgrading my big hammer.
I love the game, and always thought it had potential. I really hope you emphasize on the opportunity to not only fix the bugs, but expand the game even further.
Bug Report
Sat Feb 01 2020 SassonastickThis is a great game so far. It gets a little repetitive, as I’ve heard from other reviews, but otherwise great. However, I ran into a bug. To new players this may spoil some content. I took the quests from... Mothiah? Bit of a weird name, but most are in this game. I reached the part where she sent me to challenge a King of the Blessed Swarm. I did, and after multiple attempts with disruptor blades I became frustrated. I changed to a disruptor blaster, tier one, and won after two more attempts. I then followed the quest marker to my next objective, which at present time was a teleported to take me closer to where I needed to be. I took the teleported, and before I arrived (I believe while the area was loading) the game crashed. I have experienced this once before with the portals, but then it seemed random and did not recur. This time, however, it is a recurrent issue. When I load my saved game it tries to continue loading the new area and crashes again. I cannot use my saved game at present time and am not in the mood to start all over, accumulating resources again, and finishing the same quests. I simply request that this bug is looked into in the hopes that soon it will be fixed and my saved game, accessible once more. I understand perfectly well that this will take time and that from new games like this one such bugs are to be expected. Developers, keep up the hard work! You’re doing amazing thus far.
Has bugs towards the end, but still AWESOME
Wed Mar 10 2021 Str141Super love this game. It’s a great adventure and puzzle game. I like changing between the ship configurations. There are some problems;
1. There are some stops that have 7 treasure boxes but only listed 6. Then there are some that have 5 listed but there are only 4. I have a few stops on mine that are finished except that. Is there a trick to it? Was this supposed to be whimsical? Because it doesn’t feel like that, it’s just irritating.
2. The screens when your buying things and adjusting your ship have issues. They sometimes list different objects. Like I was trying to buy new support items, but it’s listing shields in the comparison window. If you craft it without opening to the compare screen, it shows up in the shield section. I tried twice and it just gave me two identical shields which also shouldn’t happen. I have spaces open to add supports, but none are showing any longer. None of the craft-able items show up except weapons. This seems to of happened as I progressed further into the game.
3. Token cubes and other items get stuck behind or between things a whole bunch. I have rare items just chilling between rocks just out of reach. I’ve had a little luck using the clamp but not much.
Overall, this is a fun, well paced, open adventure universe that has me hooked. I’m just hoping for an update so I can enjoy this for a little bit longer. I also would definitely pay for a second version you may release in the future.
Ambitions but need more work
Mon Jan 20 2020 MurcielagoZhouThis is a classic space shooter with RPG elements (Story with voice over+ material collecting + Space ship upgrades). It’s a sweet combination, it’s like Galaxy on Fire but in classic arcade style.
The game is fun to me in the first 30 mins. Right at the 3rd mission, the one which ask you to destroy the traitors starts to make me feel repetitive. Since this mission, the travel between point A and point B gets really long. The map seems being generated randomly with more or less the same objects. The enemies look and the way of attacking are also quite similar with each other. In that mission, after serval battles, my spaceship’s HP is really low. But there’s no where to fix my ship in the middle of the mission. So I have to rush through the map and avoid all the battles. After that mission and as soon as I reached the first workshop that I can fix my ship, I stop playing.
From the map and some long term goal, I can see the ambitions from the creator. But in order to maintain the players’ passion, new gameplay elements need to be introduced from moments to moments.
Fun and engaging
Sun Jan 23 2022 Murdock ScottI have had a great time playing No Way Home. I have played through about 3 times now and I’m at the point where I am trying to min-max and build the best combinations of ships possible. It’s a little frustrating as there is not much information on the web and I have long out paced the content of the game, so I am doing the same missions and tasks over and over to level up weapons that I may or may not end up liking… but I guess that’s a sign of a good game. I want to squeeze all the fun out of it that I can! Some bugs now and then, the final orb wigged out and did not open the last couple of times leaving me trapped inside until I restarted the game, also, old goatbreath sent me looking for chests that did not seem to exist on the map which broke the repeatability of that quest. But overall I have really liked it. My only complaint is that I have run out of stuff to do, and that’s not really a complaint as much as me wishing for more. 😀😉
Fun game! Needs a few tweaks
Sat Jun 13 2020 bradleythegeekI really enjoyed this game! Fun and creative.
There’s a few tweaks I’d suggest to make it better, IMO:
* Needs a mini-map or some other way of making it easier to avoid the constantly flying into dead-end asteroid fields. Given how much time you have to spend just flying between transport sites, it gets annoying fast when you fly into areas you can’t get out of without backtracking.
I spent way too much time bouncing to the pause screen to look at the map.
* Be super nice to be able to switch weapons on the fly, and to have a secondary weapon on the left trigger. Most controllers have enough buttons for that.
* Also on weapons: there are plenty of weapons you can make in the game but there isn’t an obvious reason to choose one type over another - e.g. an anti-matter weapon over a thermal one. Maybe make some missions where the weapon type matters?
* There is SO MUCH empty space in this game that just doesn’t matter except to pick up chests. After a dozen basically empty systems, I got bored and just finished the game. Are these for future quests? Or...?
* With a handful of upgrades, you can do all the skulls and final boss, and the game ends. You can skip most of the quests once you have enough money to pay for the upgrades. This seems like the part of the game that needs the most fleshing out, there just isn’t a good reason to explore huge swathes of the game galaxy.
Could’ve been fun.
Wed Jan 26 2022 heifhfbrurhnrjrjejenrnfjfThe game has the potential to be good and could actually be a good phone game if not for the notorious levels of grinding needed to get a single upgrade, and the fact that the enemies always seem to have better equipment then you do (i.e. literal pirates seem to have legendary tier equipment that is way better than yours can ever be???) The enemies can also flank and shoot a wall of bullets as well, so good luck dodging them without cowering behind cover. (And even then the enemy has homing bullets and you don’t.) They also outnumber you with way better equipment so good luck I guess. Purple/legendary chests are the only way to make legendary weapons and I have not seen one for an hour now of searching. No criteria is given to explain when or why they spawn neither is it even explained that these chests are needed for legendary items. Not to mentions you need legendary items to get the legendary items because they spawn a massive boss protecting them. Instead of making an update to actually address the core issues with the game, the developers decided that adding a lootbox arcade was a good idea. Unbelievable.
Great Game But...
Sat Mar 06 2021 GitarzzAs much as I like this game I’m a little confused about a couple of things. Like, why does it push me right to the end of the game when there’s so many different… planets? Astroid fields? I’ll just call them battle areas. You’ll want to fly through the battle areas even when the missions don’t take you there because fighting the enemies is profitable. I just ended a game with a little over 2 million credits and there’s literally nothing in the game I couldn’t afford at that point. Another thing that confuses me is that some battle areas say there are 5, 6, 10 (or some other random number of) treasure chests. I fly through the whole area and discover them all but it only totals, say, seven out of eight. I’ve flown throughout the battle areas and can find no hidden chest. There’s no indication in the game as to what the reason might be. Am I missing something?
Amazing potential
Sat Feb 08 2020 heildanteI really enjoyed playing this game, however I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much if I hadn’t had the mindset of “this is a new game that isn’t completely finished yet.” While I don’t know if that statement is true, I hope it is. The story is enjoyable, but very very easy to get through, and after you get to the final dome nothing really happens, you see the end to the “story” but if you want to keep playing, you have to go back to before when you finished the game. Also, the amount to see in this game is very limited and gets repetitive. You also can’t set your own waypoints on the map. And there are some bugs, if the creator responds to this I’m happy to share them as I took screenshots.
Anyways, overall it was an enjoyable way to spend ~3 hours. Much better than all of the other Apple Arcade games
Space shooter version of a dungeon crawler.
Mon Jan 03 2022 AskghdskaIt’s fun but very Repetitive. Needs fast travel even if it’s just a few places(edit- this was added to the domes but needs more further out). Enemies need to get bigger and tougher further out. There’s only a few that I can’t handle easily. A few parts changes are needed- mainly the reactor. I can’t get the best of everything because the reactors are too small for the load. You should be able to upgrade them like the weapons. I have come across one enemy that was the size of the “bar” location almost and was tough but the game crashed and he was a random spawn. Needs more of those guys. More bar missions. Can’t expect too much- it’s a dungeon crawler. They’re fun to sit down and play for a bit. Came back after update 1.5 and can’t find any of the stuff they added. I found old groat in the bar but nothing happens. No forums talk about the game either so no help. Hopefully I can figure it out or get a response
