Perchang World in Apple Arcade

Our Site Score

82/100

Perchang World is a brilliant exercise in physics-based problem-solving that will test both your intellect and your dexterity. The premise is deceptively simple, but the level design quickly escalates into Rube Goldbergian complexity. What makes the game so engaging is the tactile feel of the mechanisms; flipping a heavy metal paddle or activating a high-powered fan looks and sounds incredibly satisfying. The minimalist two-button control scheme is an elegant design choice that keeps the interface clean while demanding significant mental gymnastics from the player.

The difficulty curve is generally fair, though some of the later levels require near-perfect timing that can border on frustrating for players who prefer a slower, more contemplative puzzle experience. You are often required to juggle multiple elements on screen at once, making it as much an action game as a brain teaser. Nevertheless, overcoming a particularly difficult stage yields a massive sense of accomplishment, making Perchang World a highly rewarding experience for puzzle aficionados.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. I’ve seen my share of physics puzzlers, and Perchang World is a competent follow-up. It doesn't reinvent the wheel—or the marble, for that matter—but the addition of 'The Narrator' gives it a bit more character than the sterile original. The gizmos like gravity inverters and magnets are implemented well enough, requiring the kind of precise timing that younger players might find frustrating, but I find manageable.

However, it still feels like a 'mobile game' at its core, despite the Apple Arcade polish. The levels are bite-sized, which is fine for a commute, but it lacks the depth of a true system-seller. It’s clean, it’s professional, and it functions exactly as advertised. It won't blow your mind, but it won't waste your time either, provided you have the patience for some trial-and-error physics.

Game Overview

Perchang World expands upon the award-winning physics puzzle franchise, offering a series of intricate mechanical dioramas. Your goal is simple: guide a stream of balls into a funnel. However, the path is fraught with obstacles. You must use two buttons—red and blue—to activate corresponding colored gadgets like anti-gravity rings, magnets, and portals. The game tests both your spatial logic and your timing, requiring you to orchestrate complex chain reactions in a beautifully rendered, steampunk-inspired environment.
