Turmoil+ is an absolute hidden gem of a management sim. It looks simple with its flat, vector-art style, but there is a surprisingly deep economic puzzle at its core. The loop of leasing land, frantically laying pipes before the timer runs out, and trying to manipulate the fluctuating oil prices is incredibly addictive. The game strikes a perfect balance between fast-paced real-time decisions on the map and long-term strategic investments in the town.

The Apple Arcade version is the definitive way to play on mobile because it includes the DLC campaigns and removes any worry of pay-to-win mechanics. The AI opponents provide a solid challenge during the town auctions, keeping you on your toes. My only minor gripe is that the endgame can feel a little bit repetitive once you've unlocked all the upgrades, but getting to that point is a thoroughly enjoyable, oil-soaked ride.

Dinsun here. Turmoil is a great example of a simple premise executed perfectly. The risk-reward of holding your oil to wait for a better price while your storage tanks are overflowing is genuine stress. It’s got that 'one more year' quality that the best management games possess.

The Arcade version is great because it includes all the DLC, providing a lot of meat on the bones. It’s a 79—it’s smart, it’s challenging, and it doesn't insult your intelligence. My only complaint is that the early game can feel a bit slow after you’ve restarted a few times. Definitely worth your time.

Now we suspect you may want to know what’s in store in Turmoil+ Multiplayer, so here’s a short roundup of what’s what:
- Turmoil+ Multiplayer is like playing a campaign with human opponents instead of NPC's, on a new and smaller map, but with the same area and technology progression as in the main game.
- Join a random campaign and stack up your skills against players across the globe, or create a custom campaign with up to 3 of your friends to battle out who will become the next oil baron(ess)!
- Adjust the conditions of any custom campaign with your friend(s) via custom game options: add AI players and tweak their difficulty level, adjust the turn time for each round, and specify your starting funds!
- Move to the Multiplayer town close to the sea, bid on the plots you’d like to own, take turns drilling for oil, join in the blind stock auction and cleverly outbid your opponents, and win the Mayor’s best-looking locomotive!
- Watch a recap after every round of digging and bidding to keep track of who is winning, and what strategy everyone used in the previous round, so you can outsmart them next time!
Hop on the multiplayer train and challenge your friends to find out who will become the next mayor in town!

Turmoil+ offers a highly engaging, visually stylized take on the simulation genre, set during the North American oil rush of the 19th century. Players start from the bottom, bidding on plots of land at town auctions and then deploying dowsers to find hidden oil reserves. You must carefully build and upgrade a network of rigs, pipes, and silos to extract the oil efficiently. The real strategy comes in watching the fluctuating market prices—you must decide whether to sell your oil immediately to Left or Right Inc., or store it in silos to wait for a price surge. With its inclusion in Apple Arcade, it offers a complete campaign and DLC content without extra charges.
