Base Defense! from Rollic Games is a compelling blend of action and base management. You aren't just a soldier; you're a leader responsible for the survival of a whole community. The loop of shooting enemies, rescuing civilians, and then using those civilians as workers to expand your base creates a very addictive 'just one more level' feeling. The bosses provide a significant challenge that requires you to stay on top of your character and weapon upgrades.

The sense of progression is excellent. Exploring new areas and conquering new bases feels rewarding, and the recently added Dungeons provide a fresh change of pace from the standard defense gameplay. It’s a game that manages to feel high-stakes while still being accessible enough for a casual session.
