Dinsun here. Bomb Chicken is a competent enough piece of software, but it doesn't reinvent the wheel. The core mechanic—laying bombs to stack and navigate—is clever, I'll give it that. It forces you to think vertically in a way most 2D platformers ignore. The pixel art is crisp, reminding me of the better 16-bit era titles, and the controls are tight enough for the precision required.
However, the difficulty spikes feel a bit artificial in the later stages, and the lack of a traditional jump button might frustrate those stuck in their ways. It’s a focused experience, perhaps too focused, as the novelty begins to wear thin before the credits roll. It’s a solid distraction, but it lacks the depth or narrative weight to be considered a true classic. If you've got a few hours to kill, it's fine, but don't expect a revelation.
