Capital Lux 2 is a stunningly faithful digital adaptation of the acclaimed board game. Itβs a game of delicate balance and high-stakes brinkmanship. The core mechanic involves playing character cards either into your own display for points or into the common 'Capital' to increase the point limit. If your total points exceed the Capital's value at the end of a round, you lose everything. Itβs a brilliant 'push-your-luck' system that translates perfectly to the mobile format.
The UI is crisp and clear, which is essential for a game that requires constant calculation of your opponents' scores. The AI is surprisingly challenging, offering a legitimate threat even for veteran players. What I love about this sequel is the variety; it includes multiple 'power' sets that change the rules of the game every time you play. Itβs a deep, strategic card game that can be played in under ten minutes, making it the perfect 'brain-burner' for on-the-go gaming.

Will you play citizens into your hometown for points, or contribute them to the capital and benefit from their special abilities? In Capital Lux, you always balance on a razor's edge, so will you take risks? Bluff? Or follow a carefully laid plan? The choice is yours in this clever card game, featuring beautiful art by American painter Kwanchai Moriya.
Each round begins with the players drafting a hand of six character cards. On your turn, you must play a card either in front of you (your hometown) or in the middle of the table (the capital). When you play a card into the capital, you benefit from the card's special ability.
At the end of a round, for each profession, you are not allowed to have a higher total value in your hometown than the current total value in the capital. If you break the limit for one of the professions, you lose all cards of that profession from your hometown. At the end of the third round, all characters remaining in a player's hometown are worth points.
This means that for every card there's a dilemma of whether to add it to your hometown for possible points, or to the capital which not only gives you the benefit from a special ability, but also increases the potential points for all players. Since every player is dealt only five or six cards at the beginning of a round, every card play is crucial...
Capital Lux 2: Introduces a range of exchangeable capital powers that can be mixed and matched as you like. This allows for a total of 256 unique power combinations. One of these combinations plays as the original Capital Lux, while the other 255 present the players new tactical challenges.

Always keep an eye on the 'Capital' total for each color. If you are close to the limit, it is often better to play a high-value card into the Capital itself. Not only does this raise the limit for you, but it also triggers a special power that can disrupt your opponents' plans.
The 'Green' power often allows you to draw more cards. In the early game, focus on building your hand size. Having more options in the final round is usually the difference between winning and busting.
