City Defense is a chaotic, fast-paced 'crowd control' simulator that is perfect for short bursts of play. The core loop involves drawing lines to deploy police units and barriers to stop an advancing rioting crowd. It’s a game of priority—you have to decide which street to abandon and where to make your final stand. The sheer number of units on screen can get quite impressive, creating a real sense of scale and urgency.

While the gameplay is simple, the progression system keeps it addictive. Upgrading your riot shields, calling in helicopter support, and unlocking water cannons provides a satisfying sense of power creep. It’s not a deep tactical masterpiece, but as a physics-based defense game, it’s incredibly satisfying to watch your blue line hold against a massive red wave. It’s pure, distilled arcade fun.

This is 'Tower Defense Lite.' The premise is simple: stop the red guys with your blue guys. I appreciate the attempts at adding unit variety, but the tactical depth is shallow. It follows the modern mobile trend of 'increase numbers to win,' where progression is less about better strategy and more about watching enough ads to afford the next upgrade.

The UI is cluttered with icons vying for your wallet. While the core loop of managing a crowd can be slightly satisfying in a mindless way, the game never challenges the player to think outside of the box. It’s a very safe, very predictable product that doesn't respect the player's time, constantly interrupting with prompts to speed up progress. I've played better defense games on a TI-83 calculator.
