Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation is a monumental JRPG that feels right at home on mobile. This chapter of the Zenithian Trilogy is famous for its dual-world mechanic, where you travel between the real world and a world of dreams. The story is one of the most ambitious in the series, dealing with identity and existence in a way that remains poignant decades after its original release.
The mobile port features a vertical orientation that makes it surprisingly comfortable to play with one hand. The traditional turn-based combat is as polished as ever, and the 'Vocation' (job) system offers a level of party customization that allows for incredible strategic depth. The Akira Toriyama art style is beautifully preserved, and the orchestral score is timeless. For anyone looking for a classic, 40+ hour epic with a deep world and satisfying progression, DQVI is a must-play masterpiece.

Once you reach Alltrades Abbey, prioritize getting your main characters into basic vocations like Warrior or Mage. Mastering multiple basic vocations is the only way to unlock advanced 'Hybrid' roles like the Gladiator or Sage, which are essential for the late-game bosses.
While part of a loose trilogy, DQVI is a standalone story and can be enjoyed fully without prior knowledge of the other games.
