It’s not just luck; knowing when to re-roll and how to stack your skill-modified dice introduces a layer of strategy that mobile games often skip.
That said, it’s still very much a mobile RPG. The difficulty spikes are clearly designed to encourage grinding or spending, and the late-game becomes a mess of visual effects that obscure the actual board. It’s better than the average junk on the store, but it’s still tied to those predatory progression loops that prevent it from being a 'great' game. I appreciate the mechanical twist, but I’m too old to be fooled by the bright colors and slot-machine sounds of the progression screen.
