Dinsun Review
I’ll be honest, I went into this expecting to hate it. It looks like a Flash game from 2005—and that's because it basically is. But there’s a reason this series has lasted so long. The loop of 'train mini-game, get stats, win race, unlock new area' is incredibly effective. It’s digital crack. You start with this pathetic, slow duck and before you know it, you’ve spent three hours making sure his climbing stat is maxed out.
The art style is primitive, the music is repetitive, and the actual races are hands-off affairs where you just watch and hope your training was enough. As a 40-year-old, I find the simplicity refreshing, though I wish there was more depth to the actual competition. It’s a mindless time-sink, but it’s an honest one—no heavy-handed story, no fake depth. Just a duck trying to be the best.
