Gradient Sort is a beautifully minimalist puzzle game that targets the 'oddly satisfying' aesthetic of color theory. It’s essentially a 'Water Sort' puzzle but with a more sophisticated focus on hues and gradients rather than just solid colors. You are tasked with arranging tubes of liquid to create a perfect color spectrum.
The sensory experience is the highlight; the soft liquid-swishing sound effects and the clean, bright visuals make it a perfect 'zen' game. The difficulty scales intelligently, moving from simple two-color transitions to complex 10-shade gradients that require a sharp eye for subtle differences in hue. It’s a meditative, low-pressure puzzle that is perfect for winding down at the end of the day. If you find joy in organization and color palettes, this is the definitive version of the 'sorting' genre.
As far as mobile time-wasters go, this one at least has a bit of class. The focus on gradients is a step up from the ugly primary colors found in most 'sort' games. It’s quiet, it’s clean, and for about five minutes, it’s actually somewhat relaxing. But don't let the 'meditative' tag fool you; the relaxation is shattered every few levels by a loud, obnoxious ad for a casino app.
It’s a 'game' in the loosest sense. There's no losing state, just a slow crawl toward order. For an old-school gamer like me, it feels more like an eye exam than a challenge. It does what it says on the tin, but it doesn't do a single thing more. If you like looking at pretty colors, go for it, but don't expect it to stimulate your brain for long.
Performance: Very stable; the minimalist UI ensures high performance on older hardware.
Buy if: You find organization and color gradients inherently satisfying.
Skip if: You want a puzzle game that actually requires logic or strategy.

Gradient Sort is a meditative puzzle game that challenges your color perception and organizational skills. The goal is simple: sort the colored liquids in the tubes until each tube contains a perfect gradient of shades. Move hues from one tube to another, but remember: you can only pour a color onto a matching shade or into an empty tube. With hundreds of levels ranging from relaxing to expert, Gradient Sort offers a peaceful mental workout with a beautiful, minimalist aesthetic. Immerse yourself in a world of color and find your flow.
Hundreds of unique color-gradient levels
Minimalist design with vibrant palettes
Satisfying ASMR-style sound effects
No time limits or high-pressure situations
Helpful hint and extra tube systems
Always try to isolate the 'extreme' colors (the lightest and darkest shades of the gradient) in their own tubes first. Once you have your 'anchor' points, filling in the middle transition shades becomes a much more logical and easier process.
The empty tube is your most valuable resource. Never fill it permanently until you are 100% sure you have cleared the bottlenecks in the other tubes. If you get stuck, use the 'Add Tube' power-up for a temporary extra slot.
Yes, you have unlimited Undos to help you correct any sorting mistakes without restarting the level.
