Dinsun Review

Now this is more like it. Jelly Defense isn't just another lazy mobile cash-grab. It’s a tower defense game that actually has an identity. The art direction is exceptional—the use of color to dictate gameplay isn't just a gimmick; it’s a core mechanical constraint that forces you to prioritize targets. I appreciate a game that uses its visuals to communicate information rather than just looking pretty.

It’s difficult, too. You can’t just spam towers and hope for the best. The resource management is tight, and the enemy pathing requires you to actually use your brain. My only gripe is that it can feel a bit sluggish at times, and the 'wobbly' physics, while on-brand, can sometimes obscure the tactical view. Still, for a 40-year-old gamer who grew up on Desktop Tower Defense, this is a refined, albeit quirky, evolution of the genre. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it polishes it until it shines.
