Luna: The Shadow Dust is a masterpiece of visual storytelling. As a point-and-click puzzle adventure, it stands out by completely eschewing dialogue. Every emotion and plot point is conveyed through hand-drawn animation and a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack.
The puzzles are clever and deeply integrated into the environment. Playing as both a young boy and his mysterious animal companion requires you to think about how they can cooperate to overcome obstacles. It feels like playing through a Studio Ghibli film—atmospheric, melancholic, and ultimately hopeful. It's a premium experience that is worth every penny.
Dinsun here. Now this is more like it. It’s an actual piece of art. The hand-drawn animation is stunning—it reminds me of old Studio Ghibli films. There are no ads, no energy bars, and no 'buy 100 gems' pop-ups. It’s just a game.
The puzzles are clever and require actual thought, though a few are a bit obtuse. The wordless storytelling is brave and mostly successful. My only complaint is that point-and-click can be a bit fiddly on a small screen, and the game is relatively short. But I'd rather have 4 hours of brilliance than 40 hours of filler. This is what mobile gaming should be.
Performance: Flawless performance; visuals look crisp.

Luna: The Shadow Dust is a wordless point-and-click puzzle adventure. Follow the journey of a young boy and his companion as they climb a mysterious tower at the edge of the world. Featuring traditional frame-by-frame animation and a breathtaking original soundtrack, the game challenges players with inventive puzzles that tell a story of light, shadow, and lost memories.
Breathtaking hand-drawn 2D animation
Unique wordless storytelling
Atmospheric and emotional soundtrack
Challenging environmental puzzles
Remember that you can switch between the boy and his companion. Often, one must hold a lever or stand on a platform while the other moves to the next area.
Its point-and-click adventure elements eventually feel alternately rudimentary and more than a little tedious.
