Little Misfortune in IOS

Find your Eternal Happiness

Our Site Score

94/100

Little Misfortune is a darkly whimsical masterpiece that successfully balances genuine horror with a heart-wrenching, childlike perspective. As Misfortune, a girl with a tragic home life and an overactive imagination, you set out on a quest for 'Eternal Happiness.' The voice acting is extraordinary, particularly Misfortune herself, whose 'yikes' and 'fancy' catchphrases provide a layer of charm to a very dark story.

The game is less about 'puzzles' and more about the impact of your choices. Every interaction—like choosing whether to release a puppy or 'glittering' a disturbing scene—has weight. It’s a short, emotional roller coaster that will make you laugh and cry in equal measure. For fans of narrative-heavy games like Fran Bow, this is an essential experience that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Dinsun Review

Look, I’ve seen my share of 'dark' indies, and Little Misfortune certainly nails the aesthetic. It’s got that grim-meets-whimsical vibe down to a science. The voice acting for Misfortune is genuinely top-tier, carrying the weight of a narrative that often feels like it's trying a bit too hard to be edgy. As a seasoned gamer, I appreciate the world-building, but let’s be honest: there’s very little 'game' here. You walk right, you click an object, you make a choice that usually leads to the same punchline. It's a visual novel in a trench coat.

The humor is hit-or-miss. Sometimes the juxtaposition of childhood innocence and blunt trauma works, other times it feels like it's reaching for shock value. It’s a short experience—about three hours—and while the art is beautiful, I can't help but feel that once the credits roll, there's zero reason to return. It’s a well-crafted curiosity, but it lacks the mechanical depth to be a masterpiece.
