One Way: The Elevator is a gorgeously hand-drawn puzzle game that feels like a piece of art. The premise is simple—find an orb to move up—but the puzzles themselves are wonderfully quirky. Each floor feels like a completely different world with its own internal logic, which keeps you on your toes.
It can be frustrating at times because there's no hint system, and some of the solutions are a bit abstract. However, the satisfaction of finally solving a floor and seeing what's on the next one is huge. If you like 'point-and-click' adventures with a unique visual style, this is a must-play.
I usually have little patience for 'abstract' games that try to hide poor design behind art, but One Way actually has some logic to its madness. The puzzles are clever, and the hand-drawn visuals are legitimately impressive—they remind me of old-school illustration books. It has a soul, which is more than I can say for most mobile games.
However, it’s quite short. I finished it in one sitting, and once the puzzles are solved, there's absolutely no reason to go back. It's a one-and-done experience. Some of the solutions lean into 'click everything until something happens' territory, which I find irritating, but the majority are well-telegraphed. A solid, albeit minor, title.
