Obsessed!!! (updated with recommendations)
Wed Mar 23 2022 caitlynjusticeI have became obsessed with this game! I love it! The only con I have is that I’m spending money for tokens, lol. I play so much that the 10 tokens they give you to play is not enough. Considering a lot of the puzzles take more than 10 tokens. Also, I don’t know if it’s because I’ve purchased tokens, but there are no ads in between games, which is amazing!
Edit:
Still addicted! Lol. And I have to admit, once I began playing this game, I saw the 15x15 puzzles and was intimidated! I thought I’d never be able to start them let alone complete them! But now that I’ve been playing, the hard and super-hard puzzles are the ones I prefer! Which brings me to my one complaint… or more of a recommendation.
Now that I’m getting close to the end of the packs, I’ve noticed there are less “super-hard” & “15x15” puzzles. Which, in my opinion, is odd because if you’ve made it almost to the end, it means you’re no longer a beginner… the puzzles shouldn’t be getting easier. My only recommendation would be to offer packs that are all one specific level. For instance, one pack that contains only hard or super-hard puzzles. Because I hate that I have to do the easy ones just to get to the next pack. I hate to admit how regularly I purchase tokens for this game.. especially with it being a little more expensive than other apps, I wish there were more options.
Amazing! I don’t know how they do it.
Thu Nov 01 2018 ddkempWhat’s so amazing? Well, I’ve played hundreds of these “nonogram” type puzzles, and it seems, eventually, you’ll find a puzzle in a series that you will be forced to use a clue or two in order to solve the puzzle. In Picture Cross, I completed every one of the summer puzzles without ever needing a clue! That doesn’t mean I didn’t have to start over from scratch a few times; I’m not saying I don’t make plenty of errors, but when I patiently went back and reworked the puzzles (often more than a few times!) I found I could complete every one of the puzzles from the simplest to the trickiest without resorting to any kind of clue whatsoever! That, to me, puts this game way above all others in this category.
The only change I would like to see is for the Xs (that you put in the squares) to be either much thinner or greatly toned down to like a 30% value. The bold dark brown Xs as they stand are just a bit too distracting. It would be nice too if we could change the color of the boxes as well. Brown is…well…brown.
But my thanks to the developers for making this game so enjoyable, challenging, and somehow always solvable*. *well, as far as I’ve gone, this is what I’ve found to be the case, anyway.
Edit: I’ve now completed the “winter” puzzle and still have had no need to resort to the use of hints.
Great game!
Thu Jan 02 2020 l.j.t.n.m.mFor a while, I found these types of games almost impossible to do because I just had a hard time learning strategies to use while playing them, but now that I know a few tricks I absolutely love them! This one in particular because there are so many that range from super easy to super hard and you can just play forever.. That is if you have enough tokens, which is one of my minor complaints about this game. You can earn hundreds of coins in a short amount of time, but hardly any tokens which you need to unlock each puzzle. It’s kind of annoying because I would play these all day but I constantly run out of tokens and have to wait until the next day for the daily reward or watch a bunch of ads for one token each and you can only watch 8 ads per day as a way to earn tokens. There’s packages you can buy but I play free games because they’re free, not so I can spend money. Especially with how fast the tokens go. The puzzles don’t all cost the same amount of tokens to unlock so they can go pretty quick. So I just open the game every day and earn my tokens to save up for a bit and then play until I run out, and then do the same thing over again. Other than that I love it! If you like these types of puzzle games then you’d really enjoy this game.
My favorite game in the App Store!
Sun Sep 29 2019 nextalpha7dApple user since 08 but have never left a review so here we go... I have had this game since May 2018. It is September 2019 and I’ve done over 1500 of the puzzles, never using any real money to play. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about having to buy tokens. With enough patience it’s possible but I do have to agree that the tokens to coin ratio is a bit of a smudge on an otherwise phenomenal game. Right now I’m sitting on over 105,000 coins and have completed all of the packs but like 2 of them but now I’m to the point where I can do one puzzle a day most days and that’s really disappointing, unless I open one a day and then don’t actually play for about a week. I appreciate the daily prizes and the doubles for watching the videos, but on the Paris and New York packs, you have so few 10 tokens or below, it takes you months to get enough tokens to cover them all. I have to say, I enjoy the color ones even more than the black and white one and I hope you guys release more of those levels. You guys have done a great job with this game, and I’m not sure what’s different about this game in comparison to the other nonogram games, but this is my favorite. Keep creating more level and I will continue to keep playing!
Great game, some small improvements.
Sun May 31 2020 JHippMamaI love this game. People are complaining about having to use real money to buy tokens are wrong. You can replay any level which will now cost “coins” (which are plentiful). Once you complete the replay you can receive up to 3 tokens each time. Even if you replay the puzzle it is still a challenge as you can hardly memorize an object and it’s squares so it is still fun and a good time filler. Some levels have certainly been difficult and occasionally have stumped me but you can solve all of these using logic and process of elimination. A hint is never required to solved. I only give this 4 stars because of course there are numerous ads as with most free games. I do opt for extra ads to gain more tokens and/or the occasional free level. However sometimes the tokens do not appears as stated in some reviews. It is frustrating and happens more commonly than I would expect. The biggest downside I have noticed is the game does not seem to sync across devices. I have started playing on my ipad primarily because it isn’t as small and my progress is not saved on my account and therefore cannot continue from where I left off if I were to switch to my phone. Lastly, I would love to see more achievements and challenges as they only can be achieved within the first puzzle pack and I am beyond that point.
Overall pretty good but has so big downsides
Wed Mar 25 2020 24maddyI overall love the game and are addicted to playing it. Only the problems I have with are some of great concern. First, the games level systems are completely weird, sometimes I’ll play an easy level which would end up being harder than a medium level and medium and hard levels are pretty much the same thing.
Second, occasionally when I get my daily tokens, it just doesn’t give them to me. This especially happens when it is at the bigger rewards. Take today, I go to get my daily tokens, the screen pops up and I press collect, the screen goes away and I haven’t gotten my tokens. This really is a problem as tokens are the only way to play a level.
Third, the levels cost way more tokens the. The. The app gives us, without having to resort to paying with real money. As you go through the levels the start to cost more to play, so even go as high as 60 tokens, this usually wouldn’t be a problem for games but in this one it is because they only refill your tokens to 10. You have to find ways to gain the extra 50 tokens. As someone who can’t afford to pay for more, collecting that many could take a pretty long time for just one level.
Even with all it’s downsides I wouldn’t stop playing the game. I just wish they would fix them so I can have more of a good time, instead of a stressful one while playing.
Seriously download this game
Tue Oct 03 2023 queenfischbachThis game really helps keep my mind occupied and it's what I need sometimes. It's always an app I go back to. Seriously, out of any game that is like this, this is the ONLY one I play. It's easy to do yet also makes you think. Some can take less than 10 seconds, while some I can be sitting there thinking where things go and that's what I love about it - they're not all impossibly hard. Oh my god, and the fact you can walk away from that one you're having issues with and then go back to it and your progress is still there? FANTASTIC.
Here's my negatives though; not a lot free tokens, can only do 2 pictures at most (but keep in mind I'm thankful for those tokens do not get me wrong). I also wish there was a way that if I wanted to start over, have it where I can restore my previous purchases. I also kinda wish I could zoom a little when it comes to on my phone (but that I'm not quite sure how it'd work, I think it's just better to play with a bigger screen), but typically I play on my iPad (not at the moment due to me wanting to start over but don't want to lose the money I put into the game).
My positives outweigh the negatives, please download this game
So obsessed
Thu Feb 21 2019 Abby021202I dont usually write reviews, and by usually I mean never this is the first one I’m writing, but it said to write a review if I’m enjoying the game, and I’m really enjoying the game. I don’t even know how long I’ve had this game but I absolutely love it. I didn’t think that a puzzle game would ever not be boring, but somehow I’ve never gotten bored of it. I love how the packs are themed and it makes a big picture that goes together. I’m really surprised that I’ve had this game for so long, I usually get bored of games within a week but according to the stats thing I’ve spent almost four full days in the game. The ads aren’t even that bad, you can skip them after 5 seconds. I usually get really annoyed by ads but they aren’t bad. I really like how you can watch ads for one puzzle, but I wish the option came up more often. I wish it were easier to get tokens too but then I guess it would be boring because you could do them all at once. This is a lot longer than I intended it to be but basically, this is a GREAT game, and I’m obsessed. The only downside is I have to wait for tokens which is why I’m writing this but I’m not complaining about the tokens, it makes sense. I guess that’s it. Awesome game!
Fun game BUT...
Sun Oct 10 2021 Jcscj45The biggest issue I see is that the developer is not even trying to keep current. It’s been months since they added a new puzzle. Once they have you hooked, they don’t seem to care if they keep current with their puzzles. It’s VERY discouraging. If they regularly added new puzzles, this would be a five star game, but two new puzzles in as many years just won’t cut it. The first two puzzles are fun and challenging. Then you get to three and four. You can spend your coins, rework a puzzle to get more tokens, but instead you get fewer coins than you just spent --- and NO tokens. That makes it nearly impossible to finish the last two puzzles and it takes weeks...unless, of course, you want to spend cash to buy tokens. I wonder what's in store for future puzzles? All cash for tokens? I smell a rat. This new version seems to be much improved. At least they've got more puzzles and offer more tokens. I still wish you could use you coins to buy tokens. Maybe future updates will include that option. I'm cautiously optimistic. The two additional puzzles are nice, but now what? Once you finish them you’re left with no additional puzzles, and so ,again, you either quit the game or redo the old ones. Disappointed again,
Overall bad
Mon Jun 03 2019 K-daWg#5I love playing nonograms. I would consider myself to be extremely good at it. I play them 24/7.
Actually playing the game itself is fun. It’s just everything else that isn’t. The whole solve one nonogram to unlock the a part of the puzzle seems fine, and I can understand why some people like it. But I personally don’t, and it’s hard to zoom in on a certain piece you want to do. I would try and zoom in and accidentally press a piece I didn’t want to do and accidentally use my tokens to play it. I would much prefer have levels instead. Tokens itself are bad. For some levels, there’s a timer to see how long it takes you to finish the puzzle and you will use that amount of tokens for how long it takes you to finish. The “pause”button isn’t even a pause button. It’s literally the button that looks like the settings. The only way you know it’s the pause button is because it says pause at the top. The puzzles are deceptive. I would consider “hard” levels to be super hard. Most puzzles force you to buy hints too. You look at a puzzle at every single angle and there’s literally not even one move you can make without having to buy a hint. It forces you to use coins. The game mechanics could be a lot better too. I could keep going on and say at least 8 more problems but I feel like I’ve gone far enough. There’s definitely better nonogram games you can get.
