Dinsun Review
I've been playing Miniclip’s 8 Ball Pool for years, and while it remains the most functional billiards game on mobile, it’s starting to feel like a digital billboard. The core mechanics—the physics, the aiming, the spin—are undeniably well-crafted. It’s easy to pick up but has enough depth to keep a veteran like me coming back for a quick match. However, the modern version is bloated with WWE crossovers and 'Pool Passes' that feel completely out of place in a sports simulation.
The matchmaking is generally fair, but you can definitely feel the 'pay-to-win' creep with some of the premium cues that offer absurd stats. It’s a shame because, at its heart, it’s a very solid game. But every time I log in, I’m bombarded with five different pop-ups for 'special offers' and 'limited time seasons.' If you can ignore the noise and just play the game, it’s the best pool experience you’ll get on a phone. Just don't expect it to treat your time—or your wallet—with much respect.
