QWOP for iOS in IOS

78/100

QWOP for iOS is a fascinasting transition of the infamous flash game. For the uninitiated, QWOP is a game about running—except you have to manually control each of the runner's thighs and calves. On mobile, the controls are adapted to thumb-based joysticks, which makes it slightly more 'playable' than the keyboard version, though only just.

It is a game of hilarious failure. You will fall, you will do accidental splits, and you will move backwards more often than forwards. The joy comes from the absurdity of the physics and the immense sense of accomplishment when you finally manage to limp past the 10-meter mark. It’s a cult classic for a reason: it’s frustrating, weirdly addictive, and genuinely funny.

Available on: iPhone, iPad, iPod

Version 1.08Tue Aug 01 2017

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

Updated for 64-bit, so you can continue to play on new versions of iOS.

This was a bit of an adventure, since I haven't released an iPhone app in 5 years. If you see any issues, let me know and I'll fix them up as soon as I can.

QWOP is the local sporting hero of a prosperous country in the scandinavian alps. Unfortunately, it is too cold there for an outdoor track, and QWOP has come to the championships without completing his training!

You can help QWOP achieve his sporting dreams! You just need to show him how to run.

Control QWOP's legs and arms by moving your thumbs around in the diamonds on the screen. Move your thumbs in clockwise circles to make him run. Make QWOP lean forward and back by tilting your device.

And whatever you do, don't let QWOP's body touch the ground!

Features:

- Five game modes: 100m, Hurdles, Long Jump, Steeplechase, and 50km Walk!

- Hilarious physics engine.

- GameCenter leaderboards. Set a high score and challenge your friends.

Requires iOS 8.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

QWOP for iOS brings the legendary browser game to your pocket. As Qwop, your nation's sole representative at the games, you must navigate the track by independently controlling your calves and thighs. With unique touch controls designed for mobile, you'll experience the triumphs and (mostly) the falls of athletic competition. Can you make it to 100 meters, or will you end up in a heap on the starting line?
