Our Site Score

84/100

Reckless Getaway is the spiritual successor to the classic top-down racers of the late 90s, focusing entirely on the thrill of the chase. You play as a bank robber fleeing the scene of a crime, and your only goal is to cause as much carnage as possible while evading the police.

The physics are delightfully 'bouncy.' You can ram police cars off bridges, weave through oncoming traffic, and take massive jumps to lose your pursuers. The scoring system encourages you to take risks—narrowly avoiding a head-on collision or smashing through a fruit stand adds to your 'reckless' multiplier. It’s high-octane, arcade fun that doesn't take itself too seriously. The levels are varied and short, making it an excellent choice for anyone who just wants to blow off some steam with a high-speed chase.

Dinsun Review

Reckless Getaway reminds me of the old arcade cabinets where the only goal was to drive like a lunatic. It’s refreshing. There are no micro-tuning options or realistic tire physics here; it’s just pure, unadulterated chaos. The controls are simple—left and right—but the game manages to feel surprisingly kinetic. Smashing into a police cruiser and watching it tumble off a bridge never gets old.

The levels are well-designed with plenty of branching paths and shortcuts, which adds a bit of replayability. However, the 'star' system is a bit grindy for my taste, forcing you to replay levels to unlock the next set. It’s a very competent mobile title that knows exactly what it wants to be. It’s not going to win any awards for depth, but for a 15-minute burst of adrenaline, it’s one of the better driving games on the platform.
