This game makes me so happy :)
Sat May 25 2024 Arilyn777I have never left a review before but I just had to because I’ve been playing every day for a month now since I got it, and wow. It’s just incredible to me. I really liked Pokémon go it’s just I was not as passionate about Pokémon as I am about music, and I have just been LOVING collecting my favorite artists on here. I have no complaints, I feel it’s an amazing game. To be honest, you’re probably going to have to get the full paid version to have the most fun. I got the lifetime offer for $20 and I think it’s definitely worth the value, because at least it’s not a trap that’ll keep charging you every month. I think it’s worth it. As someone who loves music, this has helped me branch out and find new songs (this app has EVERYTHING even underground underground) and it just makes me so happy every day when I play. The trading feature is awesome too! I have seen the creators content online and he is a very genuine kind soul. I love how development is discussed with the community and user submitted art can be in the shop for profile frames! I thought this was just so wholesome. I strongly recommend this app to all music lovers, just keep in mind you may not understand the hype without the full version, it’s a lot easier to catch more songs that way, especially in the car.
It has its problems, but incredible game
Tue Nov 19 2024 DjejchjdenndjdI’ve been playing this game since release pretty much, and still play it daily to this day. I don’t know if I’ve been more addicted to a game ever. I listen to music constantly, and being able to collect it in this game is very cool. Having collected a majority of my favorite artist’s discographies, I am now working on getting the shiny and epic variants of songs for those artists. This is a slower experience in comparison to obtaining normal variants of songs, but thanks to the premium upgrade, I am able to obtain more songs and make more trades. That being said, I think the price-point for premium is a bit high, and given that the game has been out a while, it’s unlikely somebody has 8 friends (or however many it is) who are willing to download and play the game to enable premium for free. I think either the amount of people needed could be lowered, or the price could be lowered. I also think the prices of coins are abysmal, honestly. It is fairly easy to obtain coins, whether it be through trading or simply leveling up and the prices of coins are just not worth it. I considered buying some a few times when I was running low as I am usually willing to spend a couple bucks on a game I’m playing, but it seemed pointless. Besides the high prices of in-game purchases, this game is very fun and if you’ve got 20 dollars to spend and know you’ll be playing this game all the time, it will definitely make your experience better.
Is unlocking soundmap pro worth it?
Fri Sep 06 2024 MacG247Hopefully this helps anyone unsure about purchasing the pro features for $30. The larger radius helps collect songs for trade a lot. Id say i collected about 3-4x the amount of songs after unlocking pro. Having more than 3 trades open at a time also helps a lot. The skip animations feature rarely works and freezes my game (making me miss drops altogether due to lag) and provides almost no benefit most of the time. Being able to customize your profile with playlists, folders, and a favorite song is a nice feature but not necessary to progress faster at all. This game has a lot of potential, but needs some work still. For starters, i dont think its worth it to purchase the pro features at the moment. The features help out progression, but are not worth even the $15 deal you can get for 50% off. Invite friends instead and save your money. Maybe it will be worth it once the game works out its kinks, but for now im struggling to justify the purchase. As i mentioned before the game freezes a lot (i play on the newest iphone for reference) and the servers seem to struggle with everything going on at times. Not being able to use the word “coins” is also annoying when trading, considering its the main means of trading songs. A minor annoyance, but one that you see circumvented often. Good idea for a game, but needs some decent work still to be great.
This game is great but…..
Tue Jul 02 2024 Morreale FamilyI’ve been playing SoundMap for a while. While I like this game there are also many things I don’t like. First of all, REMOVE THE COIN FLIP FEATURE. This feature is so irrelevant and is not necessary to the gameplay whatsoever. It adds so much frustration for players who have already been playing this game for a while. Either get rid of this feature or modify it to where players don’t lose the songs from the drops. The whole point of the game is to COLLECT drops not to lose them over a stupid coin flip. I like the idea of the double coins from the flip but that should be the ONLY feature of this flip. Players should not have to lose their songs because of a stupid irrelevant feature that does not benefit the game. Secondly, not a problem with the game maker but PLAYERS. PLAYERS STOP POSTING THINGS YOU DONT PLAN ON SELLING OR TRADING. This is obnoxious. Don’t put things up for trade you don’t plan on giving away. The whole point of the trade feature is to TRADE OR SELL. Not to show off your stupid collection that nobody else cares about. Lastly, I have a concern with double songs. I have many songs that I have doubles of for no apparent reason. I don’t know why????? I don’t know if this effects the discog but I feel like there shouldn’t be repeat songs in the game? (Maybe that’s just me). Anyways the game is ok, Just remove the stupid coin flip. Nobody wants it, it’s stupid.
Actual honest review
Thu Jun 26 2025 Suspicious hippySo I’m doing an actual honest review because half of these don’t even get into the deeper part of the game. Yes you can collect/trade songs, yes you can walk around/drive around to collect those songs, yes you can collect your favorite artist (IF THEY’RE IN THE GAME). There are plenty of opportunities to get said songs. Now to the disappointing part of this game, it’s very and support isn’t great enough. I’ve been playing since November and still currently playing, if you’ve had a problem and needed support to fix it good luck with that they literally only respond once in a day and take weekends off then you’ll still have to wait. They have some of the worst support teams out there. The people in the game aren’t really nice half of the game is filled with alts and scams even though that goes against their policy. The little circle they start you off with is bogus, they want you to pay for pro more money in their pockets. Not to mention the constant crashes and bugs they have daily. We just had one to where people couldn’t pick up shiny drops, there is this one where it says something or can’t pick up the drop. And currently we have one of the worst updates where songs can’t even show up. This game is absolutely fun you have the time to manage flaws and stay consistent with them in their belief to make a better experience. This is my review and I’m very credible, thank you.
I love this game, but there are major issues within it.
Mon Oct 07 2024 cashstacknn on soundmapI don’t leave reviews much, but this game is extraordinary. I love pulling songs on the map while I’m in the car (passenger, not driving 😂) and trading songs is like its own little marketplace. I love that you can customize and decorate your own page as much as you want (but I hate that some of it is locked behind referrals) and that you can make playlists and seperate what you want to keep vs what you want to trade. However…
This game is INSANELY more buggy with every update. There are some times when I open the app to open a drop near me just for the app to freeze while it’s deciding what song to put in my collection. The past few days I have been opening drops and it freezes when the wheel stops spinning and nothing on the screen is clickable, so my only option is to close and reopen the game MULTIPLE TIMES for it to open the drop. There are also times when the drops on the map completely dissapear for a couple minutes, which is frustrating because thats what the entire game revolves around. Sometimes artists I have the platinum (full discography) badge for some of my completed artist COMPLETELY disappear for days at a time. I hope they fix these issues very soon, because the game is beginning to seem unplayable with all of these bugs. Thank you for reading!
Soft banned???
Sun Aug 11 2024 valued costumer🎀This app is great, it's fun to collect your songs, trade with others, and just overall share your music taste. However, there is a problem with playing the game correctly and being soft banned. I've heard from numerous people that they have been soft banned for buying song drops or just traveling on the road and collecting them. My experience is: last night I was driving around (obviously not physically driving i was in the back seat) and I was collecting drops on the way, probably about like five or six that entire time. We had stopped for an hour or more because we had arrived at the place we needed to be at and I didn't collect anymore at all. I get back in the car and we're driving and I collect literally two drops and the third one I attempted to collect wasn't working, so I try another drop and that one won't work. I immediately figure out that I'm soft banned for playing the game correctly. Players have asked for this feature to be removed and have tried debating with the creators about it. As long as this app has been up nothing has been done about this. It's frustrating to be banned for playing something correctly when you can just do a scan to see if something is ACTUALLY hacking to get a larger range and more drops out of range without paying for it. I'm just going to say this, don't download the app if you don't want to be banned for playing the game.
Greedy Creator, Good Game
Tue Apr 15 2025 EtlbhThe game is great. The dynamic of it is awesome, there’s a lot of different artists and it’s helped me find a lot of great music. However, the game is practically unplayable without premium, which is now a yearly membership (was a lifetime before). And it’s $20 for a year, and $25 for unlimited… pretty insane for a mobile game. Once you get that though, you can’t even really finish quests easily without getting unlimited rerolls, which is $5 a WEEK. With premium you’re supposed to get 10x drop on favorite artists. That’s simply untrue. I haven’t gotten a single favorite from a drop in the last two weeks. Evidently the creator is greedy and it ruins the enjoyability of the game. The game is great, there’s structure, the map, the drops are pretty cool. However, you have to throw so much money at it to be any bit enjoyable. The developers don’t listen, they keep raising prices but not key issues, like bots, scammers, and glitches. The higher your level is, the less likely you are to get moments or anything good out of drops. There discord mods are rude and ban over criticism. Mentions of things that hurt Podairs feelings or issues lead to bans in game and in discord. Overall I enjoy the game, but don’t enjoy the fact that I had to spend at least $30 on a mobile game to make it enjoyable. Definitely try it out and see for yourself, but I wouldn’t put a penny into it unless you’re very committed.
Terrible App With The Worst Devs/Support Team Of All Time
Fri Mar 28 2025 MdospwwmYou NEED to spend money if you want to be good at the game. However, the perks that are advertised to you for purchasing SoundMap premium get taken away on a whim, without any sound explanations from the devs. They literally have changed several core premium functions (which were big selling points of the game) since last June 2024, directly affecting premium members. You DON’T get a say. And when you question the devs/support team, you are met with the most unprofessional, heaping pile of garbage you can possibly imagine. They will NOT help you. The support team is the worst I’ve ever seen from any support team I’ve ever come across. This is not even to mention the countless bugs on the app, failed/questionable events (including a back-to-school event where you were quite literally encouraged to go to elementary/middle/high schools in your area to collect songs, EVEN as a grown adult), lack of communication, and the continuous harassment you will most likely receive during your tenure on the app that will NOT be taken care of when you report them! I wouldn’t even bother wasting my time with this horrid game, seriously. I used to love playing…but that love faded pretty quickly after I realized how much of a mess this whole operation is. As a matter of fact, I truly hope a competitor joins the market so we can get a better product. Because this one is completely unacceptable!
Greatly Needs Improvement
Mon Nov 25 2024 jackmpaulyThis app is a half-baked, buggy, poorly moderated, messy, annoying, finicky, cash grab greedy excuse for a collectathon game. Some quests are ridiculously obtuse while others are too easy. The radius of songs you can collect is tiny and unplayable, even if you were to go on a walk like you would in Pokémon Go. The songs are placed in crappy places that don’t make any sense. You would expect songs to be at parks or in a downtown or some place with heavy foot traffic but they’re on streets and in people’s yards; it’s like the game is encouraging you to drive around with your phone in your hand. The offer system is dreadful to use and needs work. The “competitions” they have incentivize picking the most popular song rather than the song you actually like or fits the prompt, which leads to all aux battles being frank ocean. The automoderation is infuriating and confusing. It won’t let you send a message it deems “unsafe for the community” but doesn’t give any explanation on what set off the alarm. The flairs they add for songs are pointless and dumb ways to inflate the already destroyed song economy. But worst aspect of this app is how greedy it is. The NERVE to ask $30 for the premium version of this, and to shove it in your face anytime you try to do anything is despicable and turns me off buying it. I don’t feel like this game has done a thing to earn a single dollar from me and it’s insulting that they think they have.
