★★★★★ ALMOST the perfect game!

This game blew me away. Gameplay, graphics, the story, the music omg the music! And the Turn() is nothing short of brilliant. So satisfying to play. One of the best and most immersive games I've ever played. I only have three issues with Transistor. One, it crashes randomly. Not too often, but it's annoying because (second issue) it takes so long to load! I would have still given the game five stars if those were the only problems, but... the story is WAY TOO SHORT! I was just getting going and then I faced the final boss! Seriously way way way too short. I want more! I would PAY for more. Recursion is great, but it is just the same thing again. The world of Transistor is so deep and intriguing and I felt like we barely scratched the surface. Sequel??? PLEASE???

Game mechanics and animation 4/5 Art and Surroundings 5/5 Story and Dialogue 3/5 The art was great. I loved it and always looked forward to it. The fighting and game mechanics were also good. I’m not a big shoot um up or hack and slash person, but I really enjoyed the fighting in this game. It was rewarding but not frustrating. However, the story was convoluted and confusing, and the ending was just plain depressing. There is no clear explanation for anything really. What is the Transistor? What is the Process? How did the evil people set off the process and make everything crazy? I also don’t feel like I could influence the story at all. It said “Role Play” but it didn’t really feel like it. The ending was disappointing and just made me said. Sure Red went to the afterlife in the Transistor, but she also killed herself, which is kind of a big deal. Was there no way she could have just rebuilt the city or stayed to see if anybody survived? It was just sort of sad. Was there no way to pull her boyfriend out of the Transistor? It seems like with a plot so confusing their would be. All in all, I enjoyed this game. I think for most people it is worth the money. I just really care about a good story and that is what I look for in a game. I know I devoted two paragraphs to saying how confusing the plot was, but I mean it could have been worse and the great art and music made up for it somewhat.

★★★★★ Best Game I’ve Ever Played

I was quite hesitant to buy this game, mainly because of how many said the game was repetitive, but holy crap am I glad I bought this. Five minutes in and I was hooked not only on the story and graphics, but on the relationship between the main characters as well. The gameplay itself is repetitive but always has a slight challenge to each one, which to me, keeps it from becoming boring. Personally the reason I loved this so much is because of the relationship and how heartbreaking it was to only hear one side of it while the other side was forced to be silent. I’m a sucker for romance novels and such so that may be the reason why I fell in love with this game so much. But overall I’d say that this has definitely become my favorite game and favorite storyline to listen to and play.

★★★★★ Favorite mobile game

One of my favorite parts is how using limiters (functionality similar to the skulls in Halo) I am able to customize the difficulty of the game to how I feel is the most fun while also getting a sort of reward in the form of slightly more experience. Instead of having to pass from medium to hard and suddenly feeling everything suddenly changed, I can just tweak one small aspect of the enemy that might make it slightly or greatly harder to kill, being able to choose which combinations give me an enemy which is fun to fight against. Also music is great and main enemies are largely well developed (If you bother to read their backstory in their files and not only what they say during the game. Really fun game overall.

Gotta give it a 5/5. the price yesterday was 10 USD, today its like 3 bucks, not sure why..... anyhow Bastion (other game these guys developed) was very well done but they stuck to a classic formula, if you play it, you will likely feel like you have already played the game before. This game isnt better than Bastion because of how fun it is (Bastion might be more enjoyable for many) - it's better (to me) because the developers attempted at novelty, new mechanics, gameplay ive never experienced, a talking sword, a hero who is a singer (???) it's not another one of those games where u feel like you've already played it. Hopefully this game becomes more challenging and tactical though... either way. Novelty earns 5 stars with the number of copycat games out there.

★★★★★ Weak story, arbitrary weapons

The weapons are hard to understand, the story is fairly vague and characters unidimensional. It is gorgeous to watch but that's not enough to keep me in a game. There's a ton of potential here but I felt like a lot of the eye candy is wasted. It's fun to just watch the main character walk around the complex city; the visuals would work great in a futuristic movie (hint, hint to the artistic directors). On the other hand, I just felt like all that obsessive attention to mind-blowing imagery is wasted. It doesn't serve the story. Not much anyway. It's just walking through gorgeous scenery to the next walled off area to fight within more gorgeous scenery again the next...what?...worm, robot, alien? The enemies are well imagined and there's a lot of variety but it's a bit tiresome. Glad I tried but deleted shortly after downloading, in part because it takes up so much room for something I probably won't get back to.

I absolutely love games like Fallout (2 and later) and X-Com, so the hybrid action of Transistor really did it for me. The balance between real-time action and turn-based strategy immediately appealed to me. While I often find that my large fingers don’t mesh well with touchscreen controls, I never had a problem negotiating any part of this design. I couldn’t imagine better play control on iOS! Transistor’s modular weapons system is superb, and while the story is linear, you can dramatically augment both the difficulty and the speed at which you progress by opting in for handicaps. Talk about a cool system! What’s more, I found the plot highly engaging with. Remarkable amount of emotional appeal—just what I want from an RPG.
