Now this is a real video game. Tomb of the Mask+ reminds me of the days when games didn't need to explain themselves—you just picked up the controller and died. The swiping mechanic is incredibly tight; it turns the phone into a high-speed precision tool. It’s stressful, fast, and often unfair, which is exactly how a good arcade game should be. I’m 40, and my reaction time isn't what it used to be, but the 'flow' state this game induces is addictive.
Because it’s the Apple Arcade version, I don't have to deal with the obnoxious ads that plague the original. This allows the tight level design to shine. It’s hard—very hard—but it’s a fair challenge. It’s the most 'pure' gaming experience on this entire list. If you hate being stressed out, stay away, but if you want to prove your skills, this is the one.
