Carson City is a masterclass in how to adapt a complex 'Euro-style' board game for a mobile device. It manages to capture all the tension of the Wild West—duels, land-grabbing, and town building—within a streamlined card-game format that is perfect for touchscreens. The 'Duel' mechanic is particularly well-implemented, turning a standard turn-based move into a high-stakes gamble for territory.

The AI is surprisingly clever, providing a genuine challenge even for veteran players of the physical game.
