Kepler Attack is one of those rare gems that proves the Apple Watch can be a legitimate gaming platform. This is a high-octane space shooter that feels remarkably fluid, running at a crisp 60 frames per second even on the wrist. The decision to utilize the Digital Crown for movement is a stroke of genius, providing a level of tactile precision that touchscreens simply can't match.

On the iPhone, it transforms into a polished portrait-mode shooter that reminds me of the best arcade classics. The wave-based gameplay is challenging but fair, with varied enemy patterns and satisfying power-ups that keep the loop fresh. The 'retro-future' aesthetic—heavy on neon and scanlines—looks fantastic on OLED displays. It’s an perfect 'micro-game' for those moments when you only have a minute to spare but want a high-quality action fix.

Dinsun here. I’m usually the first to say that playing games on a watch is a fool's errand. The screen is too small and the controls are usually a mess. Kepler Attack is the exception. Using the Digital Crown to move your ship feels surprisingly natural and far more precise than a touch screen. The graphics are clean enough that you can actually see what's happening, even in a chaotic wave of invaders. It’s a perfect 'waiting in line' game. It doesn't have the depth of a full iPhone title, but as a Watch-first experience, it’s remarkably well-executed. If you have an Apple Watch, this is one of the few games actually worth installing.
