Dinsun here. I have a lot of nostalgia for the Game Boy era, so Star Duster hit the right notes for me immediately. It’s not just 'retro-style'; it actually feels like a lost game from 1989. The color palette, the limited resolution, and the catchy but simple music are all spot-on. The two-button control scheme is exactly what a mobile game should be—simple to understand but allowing for a high ceiling of mastery.
It’s a score-attack game at heart, which I appreciate. There are no energy bars or loot boxes here, just you trying to beat your high score. My only real issue is that the scope is very limited. It’s a small game, and once you’ve cleared the levels and seen the mechanics, there isn't much to keep you coming back unless you're a completionist. It’s a well-crafted 'small' game, which is much better than a bloated 'big' game that’s full of air. It’s honest, and I respect that.
