What happened? My beloved chill out app to slow down and relax with now has popups during each game, and more than one. It’s annoying. At first I thought what the heck I’ll try it, and I got lost in what game I’m even playing. You leave the current board, then the next on and so on. It’s disorienting. Now I just dismiss all that noise so I can get back to relaxing. I don’t want engagement bait. This isn’t TikTok and that’s what I like.

The animation overall just feels slightly jarring and the puzzle questions are often repetitive, with a fair amount of the clues feeling like they’re really reaching in credibility over witty association.
The “themed” puzzles have very little to do with their actual theme, and the ones that do are often rather obscure.
It was a fun time killer for a slight while, but got old fast…

Wed Apr 16 2025 pancakefactorThe previous app was not perfect. It was a little buggy and the puzzles were dated and often repetitive. However, it was very low stress and was an excellent game if you needed to kill 5-10 minutes.
This new update completely ruined it. The coin system is completely unnecessary and ruins the experience. All I want to play is a straightforward crossword puzzle. Now when I open the app I can't even get 15 seconds in before being subject to "competing" for coins and prizes.
I have no idea what the developers were thinking with this update. Because it's on Apple Arcade, it's not even like you can milk money out of people like games with similar prize systems.
That said, I would not be surprised if this is the arcade version of a game that you intend to release on the App Store that's going to implement all these freemium tropes with the requirement to spend real money to keep playing.
It's so frustrating that I have to delete this game now. I'll check back in a month or two to see if any positive updates get released.

Sat Nov 22 2025 SpectereThis used to be a fun, chill, and casual crossword game; perfect when you have a few minutes. I don’t know what came over the devs in the past few months, but they opted to throw all that out the window for what I can only describe as “typical modern mobile game-isms.”
Daily gifts! Pointless in-game currencies! Random achievement popups! Unnecessary gacha elements (lucky spinner, anyone)! Weird, poorly explained, and ultimately pointless competitive modes!
Why?! I just want to solve a few silly little puzzles when I have a few free minutes. Why is that so hard for mobile developers nowadays to grasp?

Literally before, during, and after you get hit with various popups. I gave up on this game because of it. It’s overstimulating, obnoxious, and frustrating now. I’m always willing to adjust if developers want to change features (like the hint feature, which I do think is worse now but still tolerable for me) but the endless popups man… It’s not something you can just get used to. It’s just nonstop distractions.

All I wanted was to solve words. Now I have unwanted coins, daily visit goals, and sound/graphics that would make Las Vegas blush. Type one word and suddenly a new goal appears! Get coins! Rocket Rush! Progress bars on every little thing! PvP with people you care nothing for! This is an enormous step backwards but thankfully there are no shortage of other crossword apps out there. This one’s getting deleted, STAT.

Sun Jun 22 2025 NONONONO_ NONONONOlike the title says. this game became boring to me almost immediately because it does not challenge you in any way. get used to typing the word omaha, because they are obsessed with including it — its an answer for 4 of the first 50 puzzles. i saw other repeated prompts as well, but none stuck out to me as much as that one. would be good for a 5 year old, maybe, but all of the pop culture references are way out of spec for a child. unclear who the target audience for this game is due to difficulty and reference mismatches.

Sun Sep 07 2025 deepsoul13I just want to play the game. Yet every time I open the app it’s at least 10 different popups and interruptions with a bunch of useless animations. Even in the middle of a level there’s a pop up to try to get me to play some other game. All the animations are annoying and I’ve played the game a lot less after the update introduced them a few months ago. More and more animations keep being added and I’m borderline considering deleting it altogether.
