Strategic and fun
Sun Jun 29 2025 JY0743Nice, short rounds where you have to use your loadout of six items (buildings, units, or effects) to try to paint the map your color as your opponent tries to do the opposite. There is no pay-to-win in a match, it's just a question of unlocking things faster. Which really just opens up the doors to new things or higher-level opponents. The balancing and matchmaking is good so I never feel "it's not fair, they had this or that card that I'm far away from." Some of your cards will be higher level than others but you have to decide what to take. The higher level card isn't always better if it would be an imbalanced loadout that doesn't give you the options you rely on tactically.
Each card is interesting and it feels like there are lots of good options.
My only complaint would be that it is still hard for me to tell whether taking more of the map makes your elixir generation faster or affects it at all. I'm sure technically I could borrow a second phone to time elixir generation to find out, but that is asking a lot.
Easy and No Humans
Mon Aug 19 2024 Spell-ReviewerThis game had been fun and easy to learn and pickup. Collecting cards if fairly simple and having level differences doesn’t seem like its the end as other games do. My big issue comes from only playing against computers. They always feel like they are set to easy mode and with a good deck you can win way before overtime. The race feature is nice but it doesn’t feel like it’s human contributed due to how much npc play there is. When you have a streak of 300 and every bot has a streak of 60–80 the bonus reward doesn’t feel valuable or thrilling. In the end the game feels more like an offline game for extreme casual play while we wait for more updates. For decks it comes down to specific cards that overwhelm the game. For me Buzzsaw, stun gun, gun, cart, minion army, and mini drones is my main deck. Lots of other cards are underwhelming, like all the ground units, and the anti-air is non-existent. In fresh starts if you don’t have stun gun or place a motor right an early dragon will dominate the field. All in all theres much to improve on and the only thing potentially worth buying is the ad-free so you can play faster without interruptions. For a start you would hope for a little more polish and a minimum PvP.
Edit: realized this game is 12+ years old and the dev hasn’t made any significant changes. Dropping my review from 3 to 1 because of this. Personally a 12+ year game with nothing to show indicates to me that this is a money grab only game.
I like the game, but it needs polishing!
Sat May 18 2024 autoble879Okay, to start off i just wanna say this game is really fun i’ve been playing it for about a week or two now. But, their are a few things I would love to see the game improve on. First of all fixing a few bugs relating to some of the cards like the “minion swarm” and the “gun”. Second the progression in the game feels very slow in the sense of upgrading your cards, coins seem to be an issue for me. I have basically all my cards ready to upgrade but gold is the only thing limiting me to do so. Also the packs are a bottle neck but i wouldn’t say it’s as major as the gold. Also progression through the ranks is way too easy once i started actually pushing up the ranks, i got to “ultra diamond”(the max rank) in 30 mins to an hour of playing. I think playing against real players would solve this issue and make the game feel less stale from playing against bots the whole time. Their is also a problem with the card balancing, some cards seem to be way more powerful than others and some seem to be borderline useless. So over all this game has a lot of potential and if it can fix these issue AND differentiate from all the other games of it’s category, it will definitely be a top tier game.
Fun game but needs better bug fixes
Mon Sep 23 2024 SfbrownbearI have enjoyed the game, but have played past all the leagues. Would be cool if there were more leagues above 6000. Seems like there was a big upgrade but with it came bugs. Sometimes, often when about to play a “hard” opponent, when the game play screen loads, the meter will be blank for me, it will not add any energy, time doesn’t tick, and the opponents name says “enemy name”. Mostly I have to hard quit the game to have it reset. A few times I have had to do it twice. Sometimes when I get the screen described above, I will hear fast music and sounds like time is running out and I automatically win. I know longer see how many games in a row I have won, which was a lot of fun for me and really kept me engaged. Sometimes the hero’s seem to have a glitch on the screen with two spaced out large blocks on my half and two mirrored on my opponents, if I put a gun in the middle the hero’s only go to the side of the blocks rather than directly through to attack my gun. This happens even if the hero is too large to fit. There are a few other issues but I can’t think of them right now.
A Refreshingly Fun Strategy Game with Room to Grow
Sat Feb 22 2025 B|_A%|<I never leave reviews for games—seriously, never. But here I am, writing one, which should tell you just how much I like this game! It’s the first time in a long while that I’ve found a game I actually want to play every day. It has a familiar feel, similar to Clash of Clans, but with a more straightforward and fast-paced strategy element that makes it stand out. The ability to spawn any troop, building, or spell at any time adds a unique layer of creativity, making every battle feel different and engaging.
One downside? The ads. They pop up after every few battles, which can be a bit much. But I liked the game enough to buy the $15 ad-free bundle, which also came with gold, gems, and six packs to unlock different units. Totally worth it for me.
Since I never do reviews, I’m really hoping the developers see this and take it as a sign to keep going! The game is still new, and I’ve already unlocked all the characters, so I’d love to see more content—new characters, modes, and challenges—because they’ve clearly done a great job so far.
If you enjoy strategy games that let you think creatively and make quick decisions, this is definitely worth playing. If you hate ads, well… you might want to grab that ad-free bundle like I did. Either way, I highly recommend it and can’t wait to see what’s next!
This keeps it fun and light while making your point clear. Let me know if you’d like any tweaks!
Encourages you not to play.
Sat Jul 13 2024 SherrienySo here’s the thing. This game itself? Decent, sure. But the principals it operates on encourages you not to play much at all. After every game you win, you get a ‘card pack’ that you use to upgrade your cards. Simple enough. The problem? Each card pack is held back by an arbitrary timer. Most seem to be 3 to 8 hours. You can watch an ad to knock 30 minutes off the clock. You can, at maximum, hold up to 4 card packs. This means that if you play four rounds and win each time, if you don’t want to waste a card pack, you have to wait for hours before you can play a single round again. And you can’t exactly open all the card packs at once, you can only unlock one at a time. So if you have 4 three hour card packs, you’re waiting 12 hours total between them, provided you check in three times to swap which pack you’re opening.
Sure. You can unlock the card packs early. And sure, you can play without the spoils. But watching six ads to play a single round or playing to your own detriment seems like a stupid thing for anyone playing a game to do. Especially since there are also skippable ads between rounds. Essentially, the entire game just isn’t really worth it if they want to gatekeep you playing that much.
Fun Game
Sun Nov 10 2024 guinea pig girlzThis game is a lot of fun. Reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is there are some issues. It would be nearly impossible to complete all of the weekly tasks on this game regularly. I have been sick for 2 days and spent most of it playing this game… Means I watched a ton of ads because even if you don’t multiply your end of match rewards it forces you to watch an ad anyway. If you can barely get through a week’s worth of tasks playing the game for the bulk of 2 days then there is no way a casual gamer would ever do it. The win streaks are a joke. If every opponent you beat has a 50+ win streak with much more powerful cards then I theoretically should almost never win a game. They are all bots anyway, but still the win streak they are on should match their skill level/card levels. Also, there is no way to level up my cards to match the bots card levels. You would have to play slow and consistent for years and no one is gonna be interested in this game enough on a regular basis to do that. Really is a fun game though and I would highly recommend it if you wanna kill some time.
Pretty fun actually
Thu May 23 2024 sunburner_rayIt does have a lot of flaws / shortcomings. The game is VERY easy as you go against computers instead of real people, and even though they do have infinite elixir and can play the same cards over and over if they choose, they often make plays that make 0 sense. The canon is by far the best card in the game, but oddly enough common cards are the hardest to level up (except for legendaries, none of which I have or can ever envision myself getting despite being well beyond the highest trophy range at this point) so that almost balances it. Certain cards are completely useless, specifically the double ray canon, minion hoard, the elixir pump doesn’t even make back as much as it costs before disappearing, and the minion king as well is really bad after the nerf so his minions aren’t invincible, and of the 3 spells in the game the buzz saw is by far the best and the other 2 aren’t great. Troop cards in general aren’t very good and the best deck I could come up with uses 0 troop cards.
Canon, cart, and buzzsaw should be in every deck, and the other 3 cards i use are wall, mortar, and gun.
Good game
Sun Jan 26 2025 KamarhiIt’s a good game however I have a team that I use and I have noticed I stopped getting offered to buy with coins in the shop any part of the team I use. Also, I didn’t get them in the packs I opened. It’s fine I still completely destroy anyone I go against. Even when their units are level 13 compared to my level 9 and below units. This has been happening over the last month or two.
The frustrating part is my packs started getting deleted at the end of the day if I didn’t open them. I would open the app and all my decks are gone. I could earn them and as long as I opened them or started the opening process they wouldn’t get deleted. Next even packs that were going through the wait process would be deleted. Now even though the progress shows I should get a pack I don’t get a pack. My options for opening packs are I spend gems and then spend gems to immediately open the pack so it doesn’t get deleted or just don’t progress my minion level.
I don’t cheat or do any time skips like I hear people doing on other games. I just play the game as intended.
Addictively fun game, but has some glitches
Wed Aug 20 2025 *Game_Over*I can say I actually really love this game and can easily spend a very long time playing it. I love the PVP aspect of it. And it’s something that most ages can play. My main issue with it is that about one out of every 20 games, I have no controls and cannot place any pieces on the board and have to just sit there and watch the enemy beat me without being able to do anything about it. This is the only app out of all my games that has an issue like this. It continued even after uninstalling and reinstalling. And when encouraged to check my Internet connection I’m getting the full 300 MBPS according to speed test. Right now it’s tolerable and expected, but honestly, if it gets worse, I will uninstall this app and move onto something else. Also, one recommendation would actually be to make it a little more difficult as a person can move up the ranks very fast, but have cards/pieces that are less than half the level of the players and bots you are playing against. In other words some balance adjustments are needed in my opinion.
