Note Fighter is a clever, rhythm-based game that actually teaches you how to read sheet music. You control Steamy the robot, who fights off steampunk enemies by tapping notes as they fly across a musical staff. Itβs a brilliant way to gamify the learning of piano notes.
The steampunk aesthetic is charming, and the song selection includes some great classical masterpieces. It gets genuinely difficult on the higher settings, requiring you to read ahead just like a real musician would. Itβs probably the most fun I've ever had practicing my sight-reading.

Note Fighter is the ultimate music education game. You play as Steamy, a steampunk robot who loves classical music. To keep his concert going, you must tap the notes on the screen as they appear on the musical staff. Each correct note allows Steamy to defend himself against waves of enemies. Featuring masterpieces from Mozart, Beethoven, and Vivaldi, this game turns music theory into an epic battle of rhythm and skill.
Teaches real musical note reading
Iconic classical music soundtrack
Beautiful steampunk-inspired visuals
Three difficulty modes for all levels
Engaging 'boss battles' during songs
Notes move from right to left across the screen. You must tap the corresponding key at the bottom of the screen just as the note reaches the target line. Successive correct notes build up a combo that helps Steamy defeat the boss at the end of each movement.
In Practice mode, the notes are labeled to help you learn. In Pro mode, the labels are removed, and you must rely on your knowledge of the staff. Higher difficulties add more notes and faster tempos, mimicking the experience of playing a real instrument.
This version is primarily designed for touch-screen input, allowing you to learn note positions on the screen.
