Punch Club is a brilliant blend of 80s nostalgia and deep management simulation. It’s not a fighting game where you control the punches; it’s about the grind—the eating, the working, and the training. Balancing your stats (Strength, Agility, and Stamina) while trying to pay rent and maintain a social life is a stressful but addictive loop.
The branching story is surprisingly engaging, with plenty of movie references that made me smile. The recent 'Easy Mode' update is a godsend for players who found the stat decay in the original game too punishing.
Dinsun here. I grew up on Rocky and Jean-Claude Van Damme movies, so the aesthetic hits me right in the sweet spot. It's a management game first and a fighting game second. You don't control the punches; you control the man. The stat decay mechanic—where your strength, agility, and stamina drop every night—is a bit of a 'tough love' design choice. It forces you to specialize rather than being a jack-of-all-trades. It’s grindy, yes, but it’s a meaningful grind. My conservative nature bristles at the RNG in the fights sometimes, but the strategic depth in the skill trees kept me hooked. It’s a solid piece of software, but be prepared for a slow burn.
Performance: Perfectly suited for mobile play; low battery drain.
Buy if: You love management sims and 80s action movie tropes.
Skip if: You want a manual fighting game or hate repetitive 'life-sim' loops.
Available on: iPhone, iPad, iPod

Select a 'Way' early: The Way of the Tiger focuses on Agility, the Way of the Bear on Strength, and the Way of the Turtle on Stamina. Spreading points too thin makes later fights impossible.
