Pokey Ball is the quintessential Voodoo game: a simple, satisfying mechanic that you can play with one hand. The goal is to poke a ball into a pole to launch it higher, then tap to 'poke' it back in to stop it from falling. It’s a game of rhythm and timing that gets surprisingly tense as the poles move and the obstacles increase.

The physics feel great—there’s a real sense of weight and momentum to the ball. However, the experience is heavily interrupted by ads. While you can play offline to avoid them, the lack of a proper 'endgame' or deep progression means it's best enjoyed in short bursts while waiting in line. It’s fun, it’s quirky, and the feeling of hitting a bullseye at the top of a climb is genuinely rewarding, but don't expect a deep narrative or complex systems.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. Pokey Ball is the quintessential 'toilet game'—designed for three minutes of play and promptly forgotten. The mechanical hook of timing your pokes is fine for a few levels, but it lacks any semblance of depth. There is no soul here, just a loop designed to keep your thumb moving.

The frequency of advertisements is offensive. I understand the F2P model, but breaking the flow every sixty seconds for a generic match-3 clone ad is poor design. It's a tech demo masquerading as a game.
